Just a 2 night getaway stay in mid-week. Really friendly helpful hosts. Nice and comfortable and outstanding choices for breakfast. Veggie friendly. Easy short walk to City wall and Minster. Highly recommended

Great location, clean room, comfy bed. Tea and coffee making facilities and a mini fridge. Free parking. Breakfast was excellent. All locally sourced food and a good choice. Would definitely recommend.

Great place and close to the city centre
We had a great stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful - and they do great breakfasts! We normally stay at cheap chain hotels but after reading the reviews on this one we decided to give it a try and are pleased we did.

Happy couple
My husband & I stayed over Christmas. All the staff were very friendly and looked after us well. We highly recomend staying here & would come back when we are visiting York again. Breakfast was very tasty & the service was excellent. Bar prices were reasonable & the drink selection was good. The room was well laid out & comfortable. Plenty of parking with the availability to park prior to check in.

We were very pleased with our stay.The breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared.Room was comfortable and warm.Very convenient for York -a 10 minute stroll.Only gripe was we couldn’t have breakfast with our friends the first morning.Bathroom door sticks in Room 2 !

An enjoyable stay!
Friendly, helpful hosts …nothing too much trouble. Room warm, clean, comfortable; tea, coffee, chocolates provided. Breakfast superb, so much choice. Parking on site a real bonus. 12 minutes walk to York Minster. We will definitely stay again!

We loved every moment staying here.So convenient for walking into York centre which is less than 10 minutes. Breakfast was amazing and the hosts were delightful.Services was fantastic.Also George who is full of local knowledge and very helpful. We will definately be back a fabulous place to stay.

Lovely inn in York
We had a great stay at the Burton Stone Inn. We were welcomed warmly and were shown to our room and given helpful information about the inn and the town. We were in a family style suite, with a double bed in one room, and bunk beds in the connecting room. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious enough for all of us, and had everything we needed, including a small refrigerator. Yorkshire tea and little chocolates were a nice bonus. We added on breakfast in the morning at the inn, and it was very fresh and delicious, all prepared to-order. The inn is in a nice area, just a short walk into the main part of town, and about a 15-minute walk from the train station. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone visiting York!

Lovely hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Very handy for walking into centre of York in 10 minutes and good free parking. Room was very clean and comfortable . Would definitely go again !

Great friendly hotel
Friendly hotel in an excellent spot just 2 minute walk from the city walls. Room was nice and clean. Bed a little uncomfortable for my height is my only gripe. Other than that the staff are helpful friendly and knowledgable.

We had as wonderful stay as we did last year and in a better room. The service is great, Agnes is a very friendly and kindly hostess and very much looked after us and made us most welcome. Fab breakfasts! The best feature for us is the fantastic relaxing terrace area which we weren’t able to use as much as last year thanks to the awful rain. Highly recommend staying here and we will no doubt be back next year :)

Perfect place to stay
Fabulous place to stay when visiting York. Room was spacious and well decorated. Heating worked well. Beds were super comfy. Plenty of hot water for a bath or shower. Lots of towels, plug sockets and a fridge in the room. Owner was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast (optional extra) menu was varied and cooked fresh to order, well worth it. Very good location, with free parking and only a 10 minute walk to the city walls.

Well they do say never judge a book by its cover. Exterior of property does not do Burton Stone any justice, requires a spruce up but Once inside it is great, clean and friendly. Breakfast was brilliant room clean and warm. Owners couldn't do enough for us. Location was just a short flat walk into the walled city. Parking on site was a plus.
