The staffs are very good and helpful. However I did not like the Gym facility which does not have enough equipment. The washing machine area is not cleaned properly as there is bad smell. Breakfast is having very less items

Beautiful Hotel in an Amazing city
We had an amazing stay at Scandic Helsfyr. The breakfast options were fantastic. The staff was very kind and helpful and even packed as a Breakfast to go when we checked out at 5 am.

We stayed here previously and liked it. The property has undergone significant expansion with a new building and more rooms. It seems like it is a preferred location for large groups as there were multiple buses every night, which made it very busy at breakfast. We were still easily able to get a table and the breakfast was excellent (similar to what it was previously). We had an electric car rental and there were numerous options to charge on the surface lot and in the garage. We would definitely stay again in the future (I grew up in Norway so we tend to visit every couple of years). The location is easily accessible by highway.

This hotel was great close to the city center with lower rates. Just need to plan and map out your daily public transportation-suggest getting the Oslo Pass. Only downside with the summer heat is their ac not blowing hard and need to open the window to help cool down but everything else was 5 stars!

Good value for money
I was a bit turned off by the negative reviews left by some of the other hotels.com reviewers. I booked the hotel anyway because it was close to my client's location. I was quite pleased and would stay there again. Professional and efficient staff. Spacious room. Easy access to downtown Oslo, just 8 minutes walk to T-Bane station + 10 minutes to center, and trains run every 3-5 minutes (and they are cheap for me, >65). Good internet connection.

It’s an OK hotel
I do not recommend this hotel if you are hoping to explore downtown Oslo as it’s not in a city center. However, like in other Scandinavian countries, public transportations including buses are timely and very efficient. Front staff can be very helpful. Hotel has a restaurant but not that great. Not many restaurants nearby. Room is very small so was shower. People there were very kind and pleasant, like so many in Norway.

Not worth the money
Put simply, for the high cost of staying her for one night, the quality and condition of the room was not acceptable. The lighting was terrible and the room had not been improved for many, many years. The bath room was ok. The rest of the htoel was very nice, the breakfast was good and the staff were generally very pleasant and friendly.

Nice hotel, clean room, full breakfast. Caution- it’s about a 10 min walk from the subway station (which is VERY easy to take into the center of Oslo). Caution- wear shoes with traction if you plan to do this walk- sidewalks are covered in ice and snow with gravel on top (standard in the area, not specific to this hotel).

Oktoberfest in Oslo
I was very pleased with my stay at Scandic Helsfyr, the hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast in the morning was also top notch. I definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a hotel in Oslo, the location next to the Metro (T-Bane) was very convenient.

Needs major improvements.
We had a 3 night stay. First night the shower head nearly fell on us as it was falling off the wall. The room was also very dirty. The next day they moved us to a new room but the toilet would not work probably (intermitteny would not flush). The repairman never came to fix it while we are out all day. We had to fill the toilet tank with a cup after each use. Parking was also an issue every night as there were not enough slots (we were asked to park offsite and move our car in the morning). Lastly, there is significant construction currently going on in the area with a lot of noise starting at 7am. Not a good experience at all.

We knew this hotel was not close to Oslo but we did not expect construction of a soccer stadium to be taking place next door. While the construction did not affect our comfort, finding your way to the hotel was not easy amongst the non now existent roadways. The hotel rooms definitely need refurbishment with our initial room having serious health and safety issues with an exposed electric cord sticking out of the wall at floor level immediately adjacent to where one gets in and out of the bed. We were upgraded to a superior room which was better all round but still in need of refurbishment. On the plus side, parking was free and the subway was much closer than originally thought.

Thieving housekeepers
One star for stealing our Samsung tablet that we left behind. Housekeeping wouldn't get back to the front desk about it...Why would you want to stay at a hotel with thieving housekeepers? How do you know your things are safe when they come in to clean? Also one star for for not having days/hours for the restaurant/bar listed on the booking site to warn you that they are not open at all on Sunday, the one night we stayed here. There are two reasons I booked this hotel and it was because they had free parking and a restaurant! There is almost nothing in walking distance, so this was extremely inconvenient for us as we were real tired of navigating around this city and wanted to relax at our hotel to eat. Nothing else matters at this point but the beds were fairly comfy, they have a gym and a large breakfast buffet.

Convenient location, great price for business trip
I stayed at the Scandic Helsfyr while attending a symposium there. It was in a great location, short walk to the Metro station and airport bus around the block. The food at the hotel's restaurant was great, it made my stay in Oslo very easy.

Clean, excellent service, would stay again
This hotel was great for a one-night stay. It would be great for a longer period of time as well. It was comfortable, clean, the shower had great water pressure, breakfast was a great variety of all types of dishes. I would definitely stay here again.
