We brought our dog out for a weekend hike at Starved Rock Park. It was the perfect spot for us to stay. Secluded, quiet and private. We will be coming back!

This place is wonderful. Clean, gorgeous, cozy, easy, and little details topped it off. Unfortunately, nearby neighbors playing loud music who didn’t turn it down or off when asked ruined our quiet nighttime firepit time we had been looking forward to, which was upsetting for the price we paid for this. Also: Once we figured out how the map works, it made sense how to get to our cabin but we spent like 20min when we first arrived just driving around trying to find the cabin. Better communication (like a digital map provided as part of check in process) would be helpful for first timers. I do hope to come back to try again to this incredible place, super close to Matthiesen and Starved Rock State Parks.

The stay was good overall, but I definitely felt that it was overpriced for such a small cabin. Since the cabin is quite small, the picnic area is also limited in space. There also weren’t enough utensils and plates if you plan on cooking. There were only enough for one meal, so you have to wash everything to reuse it, or bring your own dishes and utensils. One thing I really liked was the bedding. The pillows were soft and comfortable, and I slept really well during the night. Overall, it was a nice stay, but considering the size of the cabin and the limited amenities, I expected a better value for the price.

This is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, as though you are camping, but have a comfortable room with all necessary amenities, PLUS things for a campfire! Very fun and private, except for the Baltimore Oriole who came to chat with us while at our firepit!!

The cabin had everything we needed all we got was food to grill if we wanted and had gas liquid to light our fire. The host stayed communicating durning our stay. I loved it will be doing it again soon.

It’s a good get away if you want to get away from the city and connect more with nature, a lot of different bird species to admire. The staff is really well organized help us with any questions. The cabin was really well organized and clean.

We loved this stay! The room was clean, pet friendly and we really enjoyed the amenities. It was such a great way to spend time with family and get away from the noise. We were welcome via text message and the staff member was very attentive. I will definitely come back again.

The postcard cabin was adorable. It was cozy and welcoming. The staff was considerate, kind and informative. It had many extra little touches that made our stay so nice like everything we needed for our campfire including S'mores!
