The hotel is run by wardens who are so accommodating. Long may this run so others can experience this very touching part of history”

“Breakfast was fine. The location was excellent. The staff were very helpful and happy to share their local knowledge. There were some quirky things about the lights in the room such as the foyer light being on a sensor that seemed to be activated when approached from a distance. It took a long time to go out! Room was ok.”

“Excellent hotel perfectly located. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was quite spacious and the bed comfortable. No disturbances from outside noises. I was a bit taken aback by the bathroom layout but that didn’t takes away from the comfort of the room. I was able to park around the corner from the hotel and assumed it was free public parking but can’t say for sure. I didn’t get a ticket”

“Short 1 night stay to break up journey across Europe. Sadly breakfast not available, but plenty of places available a short walk from the premises. Check in and getting room key was straightforward with plenty of information prior to arrival. Room was very spacious, modern and well equipped. Everything was in good order and clean. Would recommend and will hopefully be staying again on my return journey/”

“We arrived rather late (after 9.00pm), was a bit tricky to find in the dark, but we managed it! Greeted by Hilde - lovely lady. Took us to our rooms, which were lovely & comfortable & clean. Allowed full use of the lounge & kitchen. There were 3 of us (adults). Very spacious. Shower lovely. Breakfast choice amazing. We stayed here having visited Bruges. Would definitely return & recommend. ”
