Hotel itself was nice, the room was a good size, very clean, coffee/biscuits etc..all very nice.
Staff, I was told that I would get a text to say that our room would be ready but that didn't happen,
The receptionist in the morning didn't seem to bothered about much, not too friendly and we decided to lug our suitcases down the stairs ourselves rather than rely on someone coming to our room at a specific time as we didn't have much faith in that point.
The cafe attached should have opened at 7am - we ended up going to the station for food and on the way back at about 7:20am it still wasn't open - not a good look for that cafe.
Beautiful. Classic. Timeless. Built in 1935 as a railway hotel, it is still serving that purpose today. We came in by train and used the Royal Oxford Hotel as a staging base as we quickly explored Oxford. I'm the future we need to spend more time! Anyway, the Royal Oxford Hotel was an excellent location as we came in by train and then moved along our travels by train. Thanks ROH!
Always a good option for Oxford & especially if you’re at the Business School - staff kind & friendly

The building was ok for its age. But in isolation not worth the monies they charge. The team are functional and lack any interpersonal skill required in the hospitality sector. I felt I was processed not welcomed
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Room is large and comfortable

The staff were friendly and helpful. They changed our rooms to meet our requirements. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The Olive Branch Cafe next door is good breakfast and early evening meals. It is very easy to get into the city centre to see the attractions by bus or on foot. The location is in easy walking distance of the railway station.

The hotel was reasonable but a bit pricey in terms of value. I was hoping for something a bit better. The room was good and the bathroom was lovely. All the staff were great. The arrangement with the cafe for breakfast was not great as we had hoped for something to be included. Unfortunately as food intolerances and allergies become more prevalent, it was disappointing that the cafe could not cater for any requirements. Sainsbury’s is also attached to what would have been a lovely building in the past.
In hindsight, this was not the best option for our stay, as it was too far from the main town and it was difficult to find safe parking nearby. It is unlikely we would stay here again. If you want a place right near the station, then this would be ideal.
Hotel is in a good position and the staff are helpful. But, no parking, no hot water in the morning, and it was like being in the same room as the people upstairs.
