After a 100 degree days in Texas, I was given a room with an air conditioner compressor that wouldn't engage. When questioned about the warm air circulating through the fan, she said wait and hour an it should cool. First, it was 11:30pm and I didn't have an hour to wait while my kids sweat in their sleep. Second, logic says that circulating warm air will not cool the room.
Most concerning was a statement she made about booking online and that I had no options. She finally offered another room with an AC that was working. It shouldn't be this hard and the online booking shouldn't be a crutch used by hotel management to defend poor service (attention Orbitz).
Also, the "recently renovated" claim only applies to the bathroom tile.
