Nice spot for a short stop - not a long trail through but a beautiful spot and really grand when the butterflies are there in their clusters.
I took this photo through a scope with my iPhone 5. These are monarch butterflies settled in for the winter. According to the volunteers, there is something in the butterfly's DNA that tells them that every 4th generation is the migrating generation. Isn't that awesome?
It's still early in the season, but I don't care! I love to see the Monarchs flitting about. So beautiful!

We felt everything at the Monarch Resort was very good. Staff friendly, continental breakfast had a wide variety and good quality. Very quiet, no street noise. Definetly would go again when in the area.
