"It's a lovely setting where the hotel is situated and a place you might not be aware of even if you know the area well. We stayed mostly because a lot of the large chain places were charging a lot more for the weekend and I didn't mind driving to the event we were attending. The grounds are picturesque and the room is lovely, but it does need a bit of updating. The room was incredibly hot even though it was only low 20s outside during the day so I dread to think how hot it was in the recent...

"Unfortunately, the experience in MacDonald Craxton Wood was not the best. Starting with our room not being ready for the 3pm check in. Our room then was not the cleanest. The jug of water was also not fresh with the water from the last guest still being in it, lack of plugs in the rooms and the TV was not smart. We then discovered the next day after returning from a busy day out the rooms aren’t serviced unless you request it. Now reception did give us fresh towels when asked but didn’t...

"We were unable to sleep in the room due to the fact it was too hot and had no air con, so we had to leave. If a hotel does not have air con it needs to be made clearer when making the booking, especially y in the summer time."
