“Hotel and room were beautiful. Check-in clerk was friendly and welcoming. Location was completely charming, and the breakfast was very good. We were in suite 7, and therein lies the problem. An hour after checking in and prior to leaving for dinner we discovered our TV didn’t work. We mentioned it to the clerk who said she would have a look while we were out to dinner if that was OK with us. We gratefully agreed and left for dinner. “The room was clean and the location convenient but it was difficult to find initially. There was no soap in the room or enough toilet roll so it would have been good to have been warned that I would need these. The shower head was broken. There was a kitchenette but an incomplete set of cutlery and limited crockery. At the cost of the room though I would have expected these things to be provided.”

“Was surprised it was a motel-style setting with windows overlooking the car-park. Quite a bit less picturesque compared to all other places we stayed on St Cuthbert’s Way. Food at dinner was good but a bit pricey compared to other inns and there was no table-service.”

“This was a lovely place to stay which we chose partly because it has some EV charging facilities. The restaurant and bar have a good selection with well kept beer and the staff are helpful and friendly. We especially recommend the panna cotta, however, all the food was good. The bedroom and bathroom were a good size and well appointed with tea, coffee and water. We would visit again ”
