I booked a room at the Clubhouse Hotel in October, paying extra for a room with an exterior door (1st floor). When I attempted check in, I was first told, rather firmly I must say, that I didn’t have a reservation. I showed my confirmation. After some fumbling around at the front desk I was told “oh it wasn’t printed out” whatever that means, and that the 1st floor exterior door room I had already paid extra for wasn’t available and I’d have to take a random regular room on the 2nd floor (I had a lot of equipment on this trip, trying to avoid hauling it through the hotel.) I pointed out I paid extra for a specific room type, on Expedia. “Well you’ll just have to call Expedia then”. End of story, no sympathy whatsoever, just silence, nothing in the way of customer service after this point. Three trips thru lobby and up elevator w my gear. Topping it off, two days later there's another charge added by Clubhouse Hotel to my credit card. I called last week to find out what that was about. After finally getting past the marketing/automated phone number “please enter your reservation number” which is first up on their web site, I reached the front desk directly and was told (fairly politely) “Oh they never should have charged you that amenity fee”, whatever THAT is. It was never mentioned during check in but they did of course take my card for “incidentals”. The added fee was credited back to my card but nothing more. It’s a nice if overpriced hotel, I won’t be staying here again.
