Checking in, the front lobby was under construction this included the free continental breakfast area. They then informed me that they need to let me into our room each time we need to get in because the card keys were not working but that they close at 10pm. In the room it smelled of smoke and the biggest issue was that the lock in the inside was broken/ripped off the door.

Bad. Checked in a little before 10 PM, were given a smoky smelling room, which they changed for us to one that didn’t smell smoky. The place is rough around the edges. But when I stayed there a year and a half ago it was okay / pretty good, especially with our little dog and the price. This time, forget it. But it was late and we were tired. The sheets and bedding were clean. Noisy heater, cracked casing around the door lock had been repaired with some thin nails, chipping paint, worn and tattered chair, ripped and cut curtains. I’m not a complainer. This is more of a warning for travelers. I wish the business well and I know they’re offering a service that is needed for travelers. I hope they can fix what’s going on and regain a fair standard for customers. I won’t stay there again. I’m surprised that it is listed with Expedia at this point.

The pros- pet fees were lower than most in the area, but are $20 per pet- not $10 pp as advertised on website. The cons- the room was definitely not clean. The tub had a scummy ring around it, (wasn’t a stain- I rubbed it off), the shower curtain had mildew on it and was ripped of the rings in a few places, and the bedding had what appeared to be blood stains on it. We would’ve requested housekeeping, but it was late so we slept in our clothes on blankets that we were travelling with.

Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel started off on the wrong foot. During check-in, the front desk staff member was noticeably unfriendly and seemed impatient with even basic questions. We had also called ahead to confirm some details, and the same attitude came through on the phone — rushed and dismissive. Once in the room, cleanliness was clearly not a priority. I found hair in the shower, which was off-putting, and to make matters worse, there were old French fries and dried ketchup inside the room’s heating unit. Overall, the poor service and lack of cleanliness made for a very disappointing experience

The room was ok...not good. The bathroom wasn't exactly clean and there was dirt on the floor and walls. Water pressure was a trickle out of the faucets and the beds were hard. Coffee in the morning for the continental breakfast was terrible. We won't be staying there again.

The exterior looked freshly redone. Maine Beer Co. was right next door, Freeport shopping & Harraseeket Lunch were a short drive. Our first floor room was adequate: beds were comfy; lighting fine, enough surfaces to put stuff on; pet-friendly for an extra $20/night. No real dog-walking area; made do with outback by the dumpsters. The overwhelming odor of past cigarette smoke and inherent mold was only barely mitigated by leaving the bathroom light/fan on and running room fan on high. "Continental breakfast" meant gluten-full processed carbs. Coffee from an urn was unpalatable, with powdered creamer [used whole milk for cereal in my first/only cuppa]. "ICE/VENDING" was upstairs [no sign of elevator at my end of the building]. The vending machine was on but empty [must've been for awhile since a 20 oz was $1!]. Do not recommend this place unless you're desperate and think $115/night is cheap.
