This hotel is located in a Spanish colonial building that served as a boarding house for newly arrived Spaniards coming to Nueva Espana in the 1700s. Our room had 15' high ceilings and huge windows overlooking the street below. The bathroom was larger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in! While the amenities are very basic (weak wifi, old keys, flat pillows), the experience of staying in such a classic building outweighed any negatives. In addition, the price was very good. Highly recommended for more adventurous travelers who aren't so picky about modern-day conveniences.

Nos cambiaron de habitación porque no salía agua en el baño para podernos duchar. Por la noche hay cucarachas. El wifi funciona a ratos y poca cobertura. Todo muy viejo y no se ve el mantenimiento. Para no volver.

El lugar está a 2 cuadra de la plaza principal muy bien ubicado, el hotel con un estilo antiguo padre, no tiene estacionamiento debes pagar $150 por dejarlo en un estacionamiento a 20mts, aceptan perritos y hay muchos restaurantes cerca

Graciella is a master of the front desk. She will get you where you need to go. Food, sights, history, just ask. Room was always clean, staff is fantastic. Feels like a place you can live forever!

Beautiful, very large, charming rooms. Excellent value. Great location. On the downside it was noisy outside at night (maybe due to time of year) and the room has no AC or fan. There is no elevator so if that is an issue for the traveler, they should be aware. The staff go out of their way to greet and assist the guests.

Amazing, this hotel is perfect and full of old charm. I think next time i will book for at least 10 days...this hotel helped me fall in love with Puebla and i cant wait to return...i do wish the rooms where all listed on the hotels site so you knew which one you were actually getting so do your homework or call ahead

This hotel is for the traveler who wants to have a taste of the traditional architecture and the flavor of the old city in their living situation. The rooms are large, comfortable and full of character. The hotel has all the problems of a 300 year old property, but the staff is committed to keeping the hotel in good order. If you want to have an experience that is just like any other chain hotel go somewhere else. But if you want a real Puebla location this is it.

We were really looking forward to staying at the hotel because of its location to the city centro and it’s quaint appearance in photos. The room itself was fine. We loved the wood floors and the beautiful windows. The rooms do get hot but you can open the terrace doors. This might become a problem when sleeping because of street noise. It didn’t bother me. The bedspread was dark and had a hole in it and I wondered if it is ever washed but the sheets and towels were clean. Ok. Now for the poor rating. The toilet barely flushed. This created a big problem with 3 people sharing a bathroom. The shower pressure was low, which I would expect in an old building but this was ridiculous! It was hard to even wash your face in let alone try to wash thick hair in. We could plainly hear the next door bathroom shower and it didn’t sound like it had the pressure problems ours had. We could also hear their conversations as if they were in our room. There was a gap in a wall that allowed you to see into the next door bathroom. Also, a bedroom lamp did not work. Unfortunately we found the conditions unacceptable after 2 nights of this. We were prepaid 7 days and contacted Expedia about the issues as well as the hotel. They were unwilling to refund any money for the 5 nights we stayed somewhere else despite our complaints. I understand they were following a policy I agreed to but I also agreed to pay for facilities that would at least be usable. May the water issues were just in our room?

Wonderful experience in a lovely colonial hotel!
Hotel Casa de la Palma is a beautiful colonial hotel located very close to the zócalo and museums in the city of Puebla. I had a lovely room with a balcony, high ceilings, tiled floors and even a stain glass window in my bedroom. There is a complimentary breakfast as well. I would definitely stay here again and recommended it to my friends if they're interested in staying in the city of Puebla.

Quaint hotel near zocalo in centro historia Puebla
Really enjoyed our stay here. Large rooms! Beds are very firm. Hot water takes a few minutes to get going but all is fine afterwards. Breakfast is good! Yvette is amazing! So helpful!

El hotel es bonito y está en una excelente zona. Esta muy descuidado, se necesita poner mayor atención en la limpieza. La decoración alterna entre lo valioso por lo histórico y lo kitch. Creo que el hotel está muy desaprovechado.

Beautifully restored, central, quiet & comfortable
A Luxury rustic convent very well restored, great restaurant, pretty garden courtyards, a street parade we joined in (mid dec) and poolside fun. In middle of town but very quiet rooms. Comfortable beds not hard or too soft, just right. Needed a few days longer!

Central, quiet street, historic hotel
Three night stay in this centrally located historic hotel turned out to be an excellent choice. The staff was helpful in providing information, purchasing bus tickets, calling taxis and arranging tours. It is located on a corner of quiet streets but is only located a couple blocks from the Central Square. Our room was elegant but only opened up to the center courtyard, so if you want a room with windows to the outside, you need to ask. Breakfast is basic, but cooked to order.

El hotel es una casona en el Centro de Puebla, con una construccion de 300 años de antigüedad, definitivamente especial, te traslada al siglo XVIII, tuve la oportunidad de alojarme en la Suite Botero, muy confortable, con excelente vista desde el balcon, MUY RECOMENDABLE!!!

Hotel magico
Un hotel que por su arquitectura ya por si es digno de admirar, su decoracion y ambientacion de cada habitacion te da la sensacion de estar viviendo un sueño de epoca... Su ubicacion perfecta para poder disfrutar de caminatas cortas a la catedral, mercado de los sapos y a solo 10 min del centro expositor. El desayuno continental es muy bueno y preparado en el instante. El unico pequeño detalle fue que el primer dia no alcance estacionamiento frente al hotel por ser fin de semana y bueno tuve que dejarlo en un estacionamiento a una cuadra por el cual pague $50 pesos mas una propina al dia siguiente al personal que me hizo el favor de traer mi auto ya que estaba lloviendo mucho. Cabe destacar que absolutamente todo el personal del hotel fue sumamente servicial y amable.

los muebles son viejos pero es parte del estilo del hotel, el servicio de desayuno es muy rapido. El chico de recepcion ( parece el dueño) no es muy amable pero de ahi en fuera el resto del personal si lo es. Hay estacionamiento ( de paga ) cerca. Excelente ubicacion. Solo le faltaria mas iluminacion al baño. Al ser un hotel chico, se escuchan conversaciones de otras habitaciones.

La estancia muy bien, pero el cuarto no tenía ventilador ni aire acondicionado esa fue la primera falla que le vi, después el olor en el baño como a viejo por qué no tiene ventilación. De ahí en fuera la estancia fue placentera, y la comida y atención también no de todos los del lobby el Sr de la noche muy gruñón.

Just for a night, not more
Let me get this straight. I booked because of the reviews. This time I did wrong to go with the reviews. I stood 3 nights and it was the worst experience from my past hotel bookings. I spend 3 nights a week in Puebla for work and usually I´m not picky. I bring it to the point: No water (and if then drops of cold water), terribly hot in the room because no windows and no fresh air to catch, shampoo and towels were not replaced. Breakfast is supposed to start at 8 a.m. but if the cook needs to be on the reception desk then it starts later or the waiting time for coffee etc. extends extremely. I do not recommend this for families. Important to mention: I booked the Governor Suite to avoid surprises but was very disappointed after. Puebla has to offer much better places for this price range.

My stay at this hotel was excellent in every way. The staff were both pleasant and helpful, the room was exquisite and the location couldn't have been better. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wishing fir an authentic and enjoyable experience in Puebla.

Edificio antiguo muy bien ubicado Puebla.
Es un edificio del siglo XVII como hay muchos en la parte histórica de Puebla. Está muy cerca de los principales puntos de interés. Las habitaciones son grandes y cómodas. El personal muy atento. Como estuvimos en invierno y el patio donde desayunamos es abierto pasamos muchísimo frío, el hotel no cuenta con estufas y el agua caliente es escasa, así que lo recomiendo para épocas del año más templadas.

Historic Centrally located beauty.
We love to stay in this beautiful Historic Hotel very close to the zocala of Puebla. The rooms are very large with high ceilings and antique furnishings. The beds are comfortable and the wifi works well. We have always been able to park right outside the door, very convenient for unloading luggage. This hotel is dog friendly and they don't mind big dogs. Everything in the hotel beautiful, many paintings and statues and the people at the front desk speak English and are very helpful. Only negative is lack of elevator but when this property was built they didn't have them. One of my favourite hotels on our Mexico trip.
