Ocean El Faro was the destination we landed on after exploring Punt Cana destinations. It was the best value option for our family of 4. By far, the best part of the experience was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They were checking on us regularly to see how the stay was and if we needed anything. Anything we needed, they made it happen. And had it not been for our Butler, we wouldnโt have gained access to some of the restaurants as the online reservation system they use is challenging and returned regular errors when trying to book dinner reservations.
Overall, the resort is very well kept, staff was friendly and attentive and there are multiple options for food and activities. There was also a mix of places to set up/reserve for the day whether you wanted to be in the main pool area with music and the party, semi-isolated at the lazy river or more secluded relaxation under a thatch umbrella on the beach. Spots are available if you get there early enough. And everything was safe and we never felt like our things would disappear (within reason) if we took time to swim.
Challenges I would note are getting a detailed understanding of when dinner reservations open on the resorts online system. We were told 8 am, but every day the main Steakhouse was already fully booked at 8 am and often it was already booked by 6 am. We still have no idea when reservations actually opened.
For swimming, the lazy river stayed the coldest and most refreshing.
