"Unusual level of cool or creepy depending on your perspective. This was once a convent, nicely renovated with cool floor tiles and decor but with lots of old nun images everywhere. Highest marks to the staff-- friendly, helpful "Minnesota Nice" in the best way. Room was clean and well-stocked. The bad: no insulation on the very old and in some places cracked windows, making it very noisy all night (because of car racing and people yelling in the street and the trolley right next to the building), also curious noises in the walls (maybe from the plumbing?) Neighborhood is also rather sketchy at night with almost nothing in walking distance. Local friends say they've enjoyed the bar, but the breakfast service was no better than a chain hotel."
