Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac

"We had booked a ‘signature’ king room with views of the river which looked amazing on the website picture. The reality was underwhelming . The room was on a low floor (3rd floor), It was big but no incredible views. The bathroom was very small. The furniture felt a bit dated. Although the Fairmont is a staple of Quebec and has enviable location and appeal, It did not deliver the luxurious experience we were expecting of a 5 stars. The staff was very helpful and courteous however"

"Beware, there is no elevator from street entrance up to the lobby. Twenty steps up and if you get there when there is no doorman, you have to log your luggage up yourself. Then, at least to get to my room, after getting off the elevator, six more steps. My bathroom sink did not have cold water though the shower did. Finally, my beautiful comfortable room faced the main street…. across from a bar. A lot of drunken singing. Very disappointing"

"Room was dirty and the bed, sheets and pillows were absolutely disgusting with stains. Also the hvac system was broken so we had no fresh air to the room for the first day. All the hotel did was not charge me for parking as compensation. Do not stay here unless you have no other option."

"I’m really disappointed with our stay. Before booking, I specifically contacted the hotel to ask whether a gluten free breakfast could be accommodated, and I was assured it could. I then added a note to my booking about needing gluten free options and reminded staff again at check-in. Despite raising this multiple times, not once during our stay was a gluten free breakfast provided. To make matters worse, when we checked out, we were charged again for the stay even though it had already been paid for. Having to deal with the stress and inconvenience of being double charged at the end of a trip was extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, between the lack of follow-through on dietary accommodations and the billing issue, this was not the experience we expected."
