"Our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The only issue was the stairs and floorboards going up to the 2nd level. The stair rails were rickety, and the floorboards were sagging to the point where you felt like they would give way."

"A friend and I were in town for a Gala dinner and needed a place to crash for the night. The Bay City Inn was clean and comfortable. Perfect for just needing a place to crash for the night. Breakfast was your typical waffles and yogurt. Fine for what we needed. The front desk staff were all nice and helpful. Would stay here again if I need to overnight it in Bellingham."

"Check in was quick. Breakfast was ok and had a nice selection of hot and cold foods. The only two items I would like improved is that I had to ask for the coffee carafes to be refilled and the hot food items (eggs, potatoes, sausage patties) were warm but not hot in their induction pans. Thankfully the turnover of the food was sufficient that I was not concerned about food-borne pathogens growing in food held too cool. There were many people eating breakfast so it would be expected that the coffee would be consumed quickly. There was a nice selection of teas and various sweeteners and there was cocoa and cider in packets available. The room was typical/standard. A tub would have been nice but the shower was roomy. The towels were new and thick as were the bed sheets and pillow cases. Mattresses were somewhat soft and the pillows were fluffy. The heat/AC unit was very loud even on low fan. We had to have it on constantly because the room was so stuffy. There was no fan to turn on in the bathroom to encourage air circulation. I opened the window in the morning and realized that it was unlocked all night. Big problem because we were on the ground floor. Locking it required many attempts and “just right” positioning of the mechanism to lock it. The room door also had to be unlocked outside with the key card just right or the locking bolt would not recess into the lock and the door had to be manually articulated again to make the lock recess and the door to fully close."
