"I wanted to stay here since it opened. My expectations were high. The first disappointment was when I called the hotel and asked about parking. I was on my way over to the hotel at the time. I can only say that the employee was rude at best. Once there everything went alright. The room was adequate, though there wasn't anywhere to put clothes since there wasn't a dresser. The bed was way too soft for my tastes, but others in our group thought that the beds were great. The bathroom was very, very clean. I was impressed by this. And it was tastefully done. The breakfast was completely uninspired. The exact same thing everyday. I thought there would be a little more inspiration there. We had cocktails in the lounge. They were good, but very overpriced. The staff was not overly friendly, most did not greet us when we saw them, including in the dining room. Also there's no housekeeping during our stay. The property itself is very interesting, and they've done a good job integrating the historical elements. I thought a historical display wall would have been interesting. The neighborhood around the hotel is almost a complete ghost town. There were lots of homeless people around and people asking for money. At the same time there were plenty of security people walking around, who were very helpful when I asked them questions. I do not know how safe it is at night.
