“The interior of the room itself was fine, but we were the only room in our hall that was not under construction. The hallway floor was ripped up and construction was ongoing into Saturday evening and begun again early Sunday morning. Staff did not tell us anything about the construction at check in so it was a bit shocking to find our room was essentially in a work zone. Not sure how the other floors are but this picture is what our hallway on the third floor looked like.”

“This is what appears to be a very new and modern Hampton Inn. The staff were consistently helpful and friendly. I learned that when we arrived that I had accidentally booked my stay to start a day later and I was very impressed with the staff person’s ability to quickly adapt and adjust for my error. We were able to stay in the same room for the duration and I simply had to rebook the room the next morning which only took a few minutes. The room was spotless and the beds were quite comfortable....

“Booked and paid for a room through Expedia using Visa Debit. I arrived at the hotel to check in and was refused the room because I did not have a credit card for the deposit. I did not cancel and I was not a no-show. I was standing at the front desk trying to use the room I had already paid for. No accommodation was provided, yet the full $197 charge was still processed. The situation was handled dismissively and with no meaningful effort to find a solution. Very poor experience.”

“When checking in we requested to be in a room that was not close to the elevators and shared we wanted to be in a quieter area - close to the elevators tends to be noisier. We were placed in room 502 facing Upper James. It was very loud. My advice would be to ask to not be placed in a room facing Upper James due to the constant traffic - especially at night. There were lots of unknown stains on the ceilings, walls and sheets. There is no water pressure if that matters to you. The TV / cable did...
