Let me start by saying this is my fourth trip to Rome. I've stayed at hotels and B&Bs, so this apartment was a nice change. Mostly the experience was positive.
We needed access to John Cabot University in Trastevere, literally steps from the apartment, so the location was great.
Be warned: there are no major grocery stores or coffee shops about, if that's important. There is, however, fantastic shopping and some lovely restaurants where one can eat on a cobbled patio with views of churches and locals wandering.
Another warning: we had to go to some effort to get into the place. The company wasn't great about confirming a location to meet and get the keys, and when we arrived no one was there. We called and an hour later someone showed. My Italian is rudimentary, but for someone with no Italian, communication would have been an issue as the man who escorted us spoke very little English.
No toilet paper upon arrival, no coffee maker. I ended up buying a little espresso maker for the stove top.
Air conditioning, bathroom, fridge etc. were great. Our only real complaint was the lack of attentiveness of staff. Two other points about them: the day we arrived, our 'host' insisted we hand over the room tax in cash immediately. That was a little odd, but I assume it's because they lack the facilities to scan a credit card. They also didn't reply when I asked how to check out, so we had to leave the key and get ourselves to the airport.
