"We had a king sized room on the second floor. Comfortable bed. Amazing views of the lake plus it was lovely to have a balcony with outside seating. It was easy to control the heating. Good self service breakfast."

"Great location and lovely views. However the Lodge felt very dated and needs modernising. Small rips and stains in the curtains, decor faded, mattresses hard and uncomfortable. Staff were OK, our email confirmation said check in at 3pm but when we got there the receptionist said 4pm. They had an event on the Sunday evening and we could still hear loud music at 11pm"

"Great three night stay. Was obviously a former Travelodge, so spacious rooms and good facilities. Would have liked a power socket nearer the bed for recharging iPad, phone etc. so they could be used as clocks. Great way of providing breakfast - help-yourself cereal/milk/fruit juice/bread to toast/butter/marmalade etc. Good parking, and quiet surroundings. Convenient for Rutland Water and Oakham."

"Breakfast was good and the room comfortable. We were however in an upstairs annex and the room was incredibly noisy overnight (boiler?). Didn't get much sleep"

"Lovely bedding comfy bed outstanding grounds The food served in the restaurant was fantastic The hotel is a wonderful place to visit only downside was the bathroom needed an update and carpet in bedroom was stained we would definitely visit again it’s like staying in a hotel with its decor and fancy swag and tails curtains just like it used to be 30 years ago very old school "
