“Just a lovely place to stay, set in characterful buildings in a historic part of town. Walkable to Stamford high street shopping, bars and restaurants, but I'd be happy to stay in the hotel for dinner and drinks too. Rooms are comfortable and well sized. If we're back in town, we'd be looking to stay again.”

“My wife and I stayed for just one night. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff and proprietor were very friendly and helpful. We dined in the evening and breakfasted the following morning. The food was good and service efficient, friendly and courteous. Our room was warm and clean and the bed very comfortable. What more do you need from a hotel? We will definitely stay should we go back to the area.”

“Lovely greeting from the host when we arrived. Very central in Stamford with parking. Good shower although bathroom very small ( room 8) Comfy beds with crisp clean bedding. Would stay there again when visiting Stamford.”

“Extremely friendly receptionist and it’s so nice to be accompanied to your room rather than be left alone . The hotel rooms are quite quirky with antique furnishings and our room had an oriental/ Asian flavour…perhaps some artwork over the bed would have made the room more appealing.The bed and shower were great and extremely hot water so that is a bonus. We walked to visit Burghley house which is located behind the inn and is a must see. The town of Stamford is a hidden gem …I felt we were on a...

“Started off badly with the room we were issued having a drainage issue causing a bad smell in the room. We spoke to staff through Expedia who offered us a different room. The staff were helpful and made the change in rooms easy and after the bad start everything after was good. Nice quiet place, rooms are nice to look at and clean ”

“I’ve stayed here quite a few times when working in the area. Rooms are decent, clean. Would like a bigger tv but not the end of the world. Staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good. Most evenings I work too late to have evening food but I did eat one evening and had the most amazing Butter Chicken. Always the first place I look to book when I’m working in this area. ”

Great food in the Hancock Kitchen (less formal of the 2 restaurants) - didn’t eat at the more formal one. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for many many years. Encourage anyone to visit.”
