The Kontiki

"The Kontiki is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. The property is well-maintained with great on-site parking. The beach view is amazing being that you are right on Mambo beach with dozens of shops, restaurants, and activities to participate in. I stayed in the Tropical Superior room with my boyfriend and can say the room was great, but needs a little renovation. My only issue is housekeeping, we had to constantly worry about whether or not they would show up due to the lack of service on our first day. Keep in mind room service leaves at 4:30PM and once they do there is no clean up and you’ll have to wait till the next day. I would tell the front desk to inform the housekeepers and somehow the message wouldn’t be delivered unless I spoke to a housekeeper myself; that was the annoying part. Another issue we faced is the smell of the sewer system coming out of the drain/toilet. They “fixed” it, but it looks like they just cleaned the toilet and put some cleaner in — an otherwise temporary fix. Regardless, our trip was still amazing experience, phenomenal location, and friendly staff. I would come back in a couple of years to revisit again."

"The junior suite with Caribbean sea view room was very spacious and clean. Booking the option with breakfast included was a great addition. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay! We didn't use the pool, but saw that it was beautifully maintained overlooking a gorgeous view. Just for awareness, it is a walk up only to the room, however a couple of flights at most. If you are driving, there are a couple of spaces in front of the hotel, and street parking only."

"My husband and I recently stayed at Baoase Luxury Resort to celebrate our 8-year wedding anniversary, and I can honestly say our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything about Baoase felt special. The property is absolutely stunning—beautiful, intimate, romantic, and incredibly peaceful. Our room was gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. Every detail felt thoughtfully designed to create a luxurious yet relaxing experience. What truly set Baoase apart, however, was the service. The level of personalized attention we received was extraordinary. One of the things that impressed us most was how the staff knew our names. It may seem like a small detail, but it made such a difference. Being greeted personally throughout the property made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for rather than simply being guests at a hotel. Every interaction we had with the staff was warm, gracious, and attentive. The service never felt forced or overly formal—it was effortless, genuine hospitality. The entire team has mastered the art of anticipating what guests need while still allowing you to completely relax and enjoy the experience. Celebrating our 8th anniversary at Baoase was everything we hoped it would be and more. It gave us the perfect setting to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate our marriage in a truly beautiful place. We have stayed at wonderful luxury properties over the years, but Baoase is one of those rare places that stays with you!"

"On our family's first trip to Curacao, Villa Tokara provided a place to call home and rest after a full day at the beach and exploring the island. The Family Suite was perfect for a our family of two adults and two teenagers. Us parents had our own private room and all the rooms were air conditioned. The mini fridge was useful as well for our snacks and drinks. Every morning, we would step out of our suite into their lively and sunny cafe where everyone, from locals to tourists, was enjoying their coffees and greeted us with a smile (try their Miso Maple Cold Brew while you're there - it's amazing!). The feeling of a close-knit international community was very refreshing, especially after being used to more by-the-numbers hotels and resorts. The location was perfect as well (we rented a car). Free street parking was always available. There are many world-class restaurants nearby, even right next door. During our visit, Villa Tokara was even building their own on-site restaurant - we're looking forward to that for our next visit! For more casual dining, there are many local restaurants within a 10 minute drive and the mall and its food court and supermarket are less than 20 minutes away . And, of course, Willemstad is practically right around the corner. A very special thank you to Jordan, Liesl, Stefano, Frederique, and all the wonderful staff (and El Gordo!) at Villa Tokara for making our family feel welcomed at their beautiful hotel. We will definitely visit again!"
