We were so delightfully surprised with our stay at Villa San Ignacio. The entire grounds, our room, the restaurant and all community areas were so thoughtfully designed and decorated. Not a detail was unforgotten. Especially appreciated the pool table and comfortable seating areas and beautiful art. The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful, the trails and grounds surrounding the property were so much fun to explore during our short stay. We stayed here overnight before going to San Jose airport, and wish we could’ve spent some additional time here. We will definitely be coming back to the hotel again on our trips to Costa Rica. What a lovely place!!

This small hotel and compound has a very good restaurant, pool and bar set up. We regularly use it coming in and out of SJO as a stopping off point. It’s great value and very nice.

We booked Villa San Ignacio as our final night in Costa Rica - we needed a place to stay near San Jose the night before our 6am flight. We were so wonderfully and pleasantly surprised by what is a beautiful little oasis in the middle of town. Our family of 5 booked the 2 bedroom suite and it was beyond perfect. So spacious with an upgraded and very large bathroom. There were 3 sinks and mirrors making it super easy to get ready. It also featured a large shower with great water pressure. The beds are super comfortable. The grounds are really pretty and the pool area lovely. We ate at Pandora, their restaurant, for lunch and dinner and really enjoyed it. The food was well priced for a hotel restaurant and very delicious. Because we would miss the complimentary breakfast due to our early checkout, they left us to-go breakfasts outside our bedroom at 3am. All in all, a perfect gem of a hotel in San Jose. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in the area.

Perfect place to start or end your Costa Rica journey. Really charming property, tastefully decorated with a terrific pool area and good birding possible around the trails and grounds. Staff were helpful and efficient and the food and drinks were good quality and very reasonably priced.

Our stay at Villa San Ignacio was relaxing and enjoyable. The site is beautiful and the staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly. They helped us make plans and made everything easy and fun. The pool is lovely and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We would definitely return.

A tropical oasis convenient to SJO! The property was lovely and I really enjoyed exploring the trails in the morning. The restaurant and bar were exquisite. Our room was very spacious and the bed was the most comfortable one for the whole trip! Only criticisms: The bathroom was a little awkward with the small door in the corner (but water pressure was great!) and the small console table that held the glass water pitcher was very wobbly! My husband tried one of the handles and discovered it didn’t actually have drawers, luckily nothing fell :)

We had a wonderful experience staying at Villa San Ignacio and really wish we could have been there longer. The amazing service started when we were at the Houston airport waiting for our connecting flight to San Jose. We realized that by the time our flight arrived and we rented our car that the dining options were going to be limited and we would be tired and hungry. Villa San Ignacio offers a late arrival menu and we immediately placed an order on WhatsApp for Arroz con Pollo and some beers. The staff responded immediately and said our meal would be waiting for us when we arrived. Sure enough, it was quite late by the time we left the airport, rented a car and made our way to the hotel. The directions were excellent and we were greeted by Jonathan at the gate and immediately given the key to our room. We parked and brought our bags into the room. Minutes later Jonathan was knocking at the door with our absolutely delicious hot dinner and cold beer (we ate outside on the veranda). We couldn't have been happier after a long travel day. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The hotel grounds are gorgeous and very quiet. The pool looked amazing but we didn't have time to enjoy it. The included breakfast was every bit as good as our dinner. I strongly recommend Villa San Ignacio and the amazing staff who took care of every detail during our visit.

I regret only having one night here! Gorgeous property and rooms. We had dinner at their on site restaurant and everything was phenomenal. Beautiful pool and grounds. The only thing I can mention is that the room didn’t have a tv. Not a problem for me in the slightest, but maybe matters to others so worth mentioning. 10/10 would stay again!

This is a gorgeous property and my room was a wonderful retreat. But the property borders a main thoroughfare and therefor the traffic noise was a bit much. It's important to note that I am a Caribbean person who like many others in the tropics live with our windows open so I can expect to hear everything outside.

For the price, i expected a nicer room. The shower was pathetic, with a horrible shower head and hardly any water pressure. No a/c or TV. It was a very basic, unimpressive room.

We stayed at Villa San Ignatio one night, arriving in San Jose with an international flight. Check in was straightforward despite our late arrival. The gate keeper had everything needed for check in and directed us directly to our room. A warden met us in the parking lot and helped us with our luggage. The grounds of the villa are safe, the restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed the trails on the property in a morning walk. This is our second visit to Villa San Ignatio and we will return at the end of our stay in Costa Rica to catch a flight back to our country.

We enjoyed our stay the night before our flight out. Grounds were very nice and we saw many birds. The breakfast was good. Dinner unfortunately, was not that great. Service was good and staff was very friendly. I would recommend a stay here.

We enjoyed our stay at Villa San Ignacio! We found the staff to be warm and welcoming and the accommodations clean and comfortable. Food was great and the property pretty and well kept. It was very convenient for a one night stay with easy access to the San Jose airport. Definitely recommend!!!!

Great hotel. Very quiet and safe. Away from the busy San Jose and a great location if you plan on exploring the Starbucks plantation or Paos Volcano.
