The website makes this place look like a dream, but my February stay was a freezing nightmare. * The Hot Tub: Only a foot deep (no submerging) and never got above 75°F. * The Management: When I reported the cold water, the manager told me it’s cold because it’s winter. Unbelievable. * The Room: Floors were so cold I had to use blankets as rugs. * Towels are so smelly. It seems like towels have not dried completely or there has been no guests for many months....

"오랜만에 통영 여행으로 다녀왔습니다. 숙소를 항상 시내 쪽으로 잡다가 처음으로 여기로 잡았습니다. 시원한 바다 바람이 좋았고 밤에는 달에 비친 윤슬, 낮에는 햇빛에 비친 윤슬, 찰랑이는 바다가 너무 좋았습니다. 오션뷰라 이 모든게 숙소에서 가능했구요. 베란다에 캠핑의자 놓고 맥주한잔 하니 최고 였습니다. 바로 앞에서 낚시 가능해서 해봤는데 볼락 조그마한 녀석들, 놀래미 등이 나오고요.....처음으로 해달도 봤습니다. 자연 보호가 잘되고 물이 좋으니 해달 같은 동물들도 살고요. 통영 여행에서 강추 합니다. 스탠포드나 금호 리조트에서 산책 오신 분들이 저희가 고기 굽고 있으니 부러워 하시더군요. 사장님 친절하시고, 숙소 연삭은 있지만 실망하지 않을 정도 였습니다."

Friemily Pool Villa & Hotel

"The hotel itself is beautiful and the facilities are nice, but the location was a major disappointment for me. I was traveling alone without a car, and the hotel was much more isolated than I had expected when I booked it. There is very little within walking distance — no convenient restaurants, convenience stores, or easy access to a beach or other places to visit. More importantly, the roads around the hotel do not have sidewalks, so I did not feel safe walking along them. The hotel staff also confirmed that walking to nearby restaurants or attractions was not recommended. As a result, I had to use Kakao Taxi every time I wanted to go anywhere, including getting back to the bus terminal. This quickly adds extra cost and makes the stay much less convenient if you do not have a car. I had originally booked two nights, but I decided to leave after only one night and return to Seoul earlier than planned. For someone with a car who is looking for a quiet and secluded place, this hotel may be a good choice. However, for a solo traveler who relies on public transportation and likes to be able to walk to restaurants, the beach, shops, or simply go for a walk, I would not recommend this location."

"We had a great stay here in the family room. Loved being right on the water with the views of ferries, fishing boats, etc. Although the boats can be a little loud when coming and going in the early hours, the room/location itself is pretty quiet. Staff were very nice and although they don't speak much English you can communicate easily using your phone's translation apps (like Papago). Cooking utensils in the room were very limited but we loved the free fresh ground espresso in the lobby and Tongyeong has many inexpensive and delicious food options. Overall, the hotel and room are somewhat aged and faded and the amenities are quite basic, but we didn't care: the bed was clean and comfortable and the location is unbeatable. For the price it was a great deal."
