"Mattress was beyond hard. Really unbelievable. Check-in self-service would not take a credit card unless you had a PIN. No place to sit, relax or work. Any area where you might think to go was reservation only, so you couldn't just go to relax or read at random times. Rooms are too small to do any of this in. Lobby was always full of tour groups and stacked luggage. Bathrooms were super small. "

"Hairs found on bed linen. And my wife waited an hour for breakfast (about 40 minutes in queue and then 20 for food…which didn’t arrive!). She gave up and left without breakfast. Hotel did refund our breakfast, but nevertheless puts whole timing out (not to mention hunger!) for your day and is just a bad start. "

"The staff was really friendly and helpful when we checked out. The shuttle service was great. We did not have a very good experience at the beginning but management acknowledged our concerns. The room supplies are replenished daily. To save the environment, may I suggest the hotel to use the large pump body wash, shampoo and conditioner instead of giving out the travel size? Just my two cents…."

"I wish they put as much effort into the rooms as the lobby, the lobby is beautiful. The floors were a bit dirty and the walls. The staff wasn’t too helpful, great location for some things like Niju castle and Fushimi Inari. Overall lobby 5 stars, rooms three stars, staff three to four depending on who you ask."

"The first room we had was dirty so they quickly changed us to a clean room. They are militant about taking your shoes off here, we loved the free dessert bar, but overall the hotel was absolutely packed with tourists and kind of crazy. The staff, however, went above and beyond to take care of every need we had. The rooms are small for us Americans but the bed was comfortable. "
