We stayed at the Forsyth Inn for one night while in town for a baby shower on Skidaway Island, and it was a lovely experience. The cottage was peaceful and cozy, tucked just off the courtyard and directly across from beautiful Forsyth Park. We enjoyed afternoon and evening strolls, and ended the night with complimentary tea and dessert in the parlor—a really thoughtful touch!
I was traveling with my 9.5-year-old Doberman, a trained psychiatric service animal, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and respectful. They always asked before greeting him and made sure he felt just as at home—inviting him into the parlor and even out on the front porch overlooking the park.
While we did notice a few minor housekeeping details (some dust/debris under the bed, a few strands of hair in the shower, and a visible bug trap with a dead palmetto bug stuck), none of it was a major concern—especially since traps like that are necessary and expected in historic, ground-level properties in the South.
We really appreciated how quickly the staff resolved a water pressure issue while we were out to dinner, and overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. We’d absolutely return for a longer visit next time we’re in Savannah!
