A beautifully converted barn with real character
We had a wonderful stay at this stone cottage in North Yorkshire. The barn conversion has been done with real care — you can tell a lot of thought and history went into the renovation, and the handmade furniture (courtesy of the owner's upholstery business) gives every room a lovely, personal touch you just don't get in a standard rental.
Inside, it's charming and cosy without feeling cluttered, and the garden and grounds outside were a real highlight — a lovely spot to sit with a coffee in the morning or relax after a day out exploring. We arrived to a thoughtful welcome package of wine and fruit, which was such a nice touch after a long drive.
It's clear the owner takes real pride in the place, and it shows in every detail. We'd happily stay again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a characterful base in North Yorkshire.
