Parkhotel Gunten - Beach & Spa

"It’s very clear that the hotel’s primary focus is to make guests feel as relaxed and as comfortable as possible, and they succeed on all fronts. The lakefront view is so worth it. It’s an experience I don’t think I would’ve been able to get elsewhere. It’s calm, quiet and allows you to slow down and really take in the lake’s serenity, rather than it feeling like a brief stop on a tour. The building is great. The food was great. The staff were helpful and kind. The location is easily accessible by car or a 10 minute bus ride. I was able to walk up the hillside to the nice village and get a good view of the lake with a good bit of exercise. I would happily stay again."

"The hotel was great. Our room was good. A bit hot due to the heat wave, but 3 good twin beds. It was up on the third floor which meant we had to go up a few flights of stairs with our baggage, not really a big deal. Ceiling was really low in the bathroom for tall people, my son couldn’t stand up. The staff that helped us check in were really nice and helpful. Good location with parking right across the road."

"Had a wonderful stay here at Thun! The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the station and can be accessed from the parking garage elevator. The breakfast was excellent, with a buffet selection as well as made-to-order options. Rooms were spacious and spotless though the air conditioning is not strong enough for around 30 degrees weather. Overall, a charming hotel with amazing history. Highly recommended!"

"The reception was very friendly and helpful. Everything was explained very well. By contrast, the breakfast service in the morning was a bit on the curt side, no explanations, do it yourself. The breakfast buffet, by contrast was well appointed, very satisfactory. The room had everything necessary with one exception: no USB connectivity anywhere. The only electrical connectivity are the Swiss 3 pole plug-ins. There are a number of them but most in places where there is no room to set down a computer. Fortunately, I carry my own plugs, but that should be remedied."

"The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were fantastic, all very helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms are great and quiet and the restaurant has excellent local food options, it also seemed popular with locals. Breakfast was great and the free coffee in reception a good start to the day. The hotel is perfectly situated 10minute bus ride away from Thun and with the Visitors Panorama card this is a free journey. We stayed 3 nights and hope to return soon."

"Lovely Stay on the lake front with private dock for swimming and lounge chairs and hammocks for relaxing. Great views from the balcony. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. There are a number of free parking spots right in front of the hotel first come first served. Tip: arrive early to get one. Bus #21 runs up and down the lake from Thun to Interlaken with a stop 100ft away. Bus fare is free to guests staying in hotels in the area. Beautiful time in Thun."
