My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay at the Hotel Dontenville. The room was very clean and comfortable. The host was very friendly and informative. We had one evening meal and two breakfasts'. We really liked the breakfast. The fresh baguette was awesome and the croissants melted in your mouth. If we return to the Alcase region, we will defiantly stay her again.

A modest hotel in the village, close to small shops (including wine), restaurants and cafes/bars. Nothing fancy but very clean and practical. Personel super friendly. Hotel's restaurant offers good traditional meals and local wine, highly commended. You don't leave hungry!

Nice, hidden gem!

The hotel is simple, very clean and comfortable. The room was small but perfect for my one night stay. It's situated on the main road through town but was peaceful. I chose to have breakfast which was fresh, with a baguette, croissant, ham, cheese, yoghurt and coffee. The owner and team are friendly and helpful. I also ate in the restaurant, the food was excellent!

Wonderful, small family hotel.

This small hotel is in the middle of a very old town, an old building with beautiful features. It seems to be run by a very friendly and welcoming family who are keen to look after you extremely well. It has no 24/7 reception, so realise that you can not drop your bag off before 4pm, as the hotel is shut up before then (my bad). Quaint restaurant, with hearty, fresh food, great local wine and friendly service. Lovely dessert. Highly recommended.

LOVE this wonderful hotel.

I have stayed here twice and LOVE this beautiful hotel. Very traditional building with all the modern convenience - AC, updated room/bathroom. Good wifi. Super clean. Friendly staff. Restaurant serving wonderful local dishes. Wonderful breakfast. Easy free parking a few steps from the building. Safe and quiet. Very short drive to nearby popular destinations. The town itself is very charming. LOVE this place and will return whenever I'm in the area.

The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Check in is at 4pm which would have been fine however the hotel is completely closed before 4pm so we were left waiting around the town for a long time before we could get in to leave our luggage. The town itself was also mostly closed so it was difficult to find somewhere to wait for the hours until 4pm came (we had an early 9am flight so we wasted most of the day waiting to leave luggage) The bus comes once an hour The travel from Selestat train station to the hotel is only 10 minutes by car however none of the taxis we called wanted to do the journey and the bus times to Chatenois is far and few between and last busses are very early

Top floor gave us charm & views

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. First time was a very simple room. This time, room no 32 on the top floor, under the roof beams was (more!) charming, with views to the mountains and wineyards. Good food, too!

Quaint and central

Fun and eccentric little attic place that was very roomy! Air conditioning was welcome after being in the heat outside. They provided a place to store our bikes, which was great! Good value for the money - would stay again!

A very genuine and quaint hotel with down to earth delicious comfort food. A stay to remember just because everything just feels honest and real. Lovely riesling wine and munster cheese dishes. The beds could do with a do-over, but I would stay again, even if I was to sleep on the floor!!!

Das Hotel liegt sehr schön auf der Elsässischen Weinstraße zwischen Straßburg und Colmar. Sehr ruhig und zentral in einem kleinen Dorf. Die Betreiberfamilie ist sehr freundlich.

Bra sängar m kudden sisådär. Bra mat och fin generös frukost. Väldigt trevligt och hjälpsamt bemötande av personalen/hotellägaren? Hotellet minst trehundra år gammalt med en underbart knarrande trappa 😊Byn är jättefin och jättegammal med en mur från medeltiden m stadsport med det traditionella storkboet på taket. Vi kommer tillbaka.
