We booked this hotel for a one-night layover after a long flight, choosing it for the price and proximity to the airport. We didn’t expect luxury, but the experience was terrible. We arrived at 10 PM, and the taxi dropped us at the main lobby—only to find out our room was on the opposite side of the road. With no help and our taxi already gone, we had to carry our luggage across the street. At check-in, we were given a smoking room that smelled like an ashtray. We immediately called reception asking to switch, and they said someone would come. After over an hour and five follow-up calls, no one showed up. Tired and frustrated, we took our luggage across the resort to the front desk. Only then were we offered a new room — not the king bed we booked, but two doubles. The new room was extremely hot, and the AC barely worked. At midnight, we gave up and tried to sleep in the heat. Around 3 AM, a drunk man tried to enter our room, apparently lost — not the hotel’s fault, but disturbing. Worst of all, the towels smelled like cigarette smoke, like they were stored or washed in a smoking area. Disgusting. We didn’t use the amenities or eat at the hotel, so can’t comment on that. But based on this experience, we wouldn’t stay again and don’t recommend this place — not even for a quick overnight.

i stayed 10 days in Marriott with my friend ,it was so amazing holiday for me , all staffs are nice and friendly and kindly and also room condition was clean it was such a special time for me and if someone ask about this Hotel i will recommend ,definitely see you ASAP ! Unexpected of a Marriot Hotel

I got a room on Marriot Sharm El Sheikh Mountain Resort. I have stayed in many Marriot Hotels in many other countries so I do have high expectations for this one. The Good : Quiet Room, comfortable beds and pillows, ice clean pool, nice selection for breakfast and buffet (though you have to cross over to the Beach Front Marriot right across the Marriot Mountain Resort), walking distance to Naama Shopping Area where you can get a wider-selection of restaurants and souvenir shops. The Bad: The room is in bad need of a major renovation, including the toilet and bath where there are broken tiles. The TV set does not work, the telephone set is also not working, the Ref functions like another cabinet as it does not work. While someone comes to clean-up the place, it is not done thoroughly and there are even dried lipstick stains and hair in the coffee cups. No slippers provided which is basic in many of the Marriots I've stayed in elsewhere. WiFi is only free in the public areas and is charged 55 EGP per day in the rooms where you'd likely want to work if you are on a business trip. For a business traveler these may seem trivial as you mostly need a place to rest after a long day. But for a Hotel carrying the Marriot name one would really expect better. And hopefully this feedback helps them improve. I rate them a basic

The hotel is alright compare to the price is a good ratio. The swimming pool is nice and the access to the beach cool too. The personnel of the hotel are smiling but nobody speaks English properly except the guys on the reception. However, a morning I let my safe deposit box open, and I was in my balcony just in front of the swimming pool and when I get to my room the cleaning man was surprised, I went to see my safe, and after counting my money I realized that the guy stole 100€. 2 bills of 50€. I had 600€ in cash with only bills of 50€. Very disappoint for a Marriott. When I tried to talk to the cleaning guy, he did not understand anything. My room was 522, mountain side.

Wonderful resort, has multiple restaurants and pools, and the beach area was clean and not too crowded. A close walk to any other shopping or restaurants as well. Friendly staff and very secure property, highly recommended!!

Internet keep turning off which caused my carrier to charge for internet service. I got charged $30 extra dollars and also paid the Marriott for upgraded internet. I was very upset!

There are apparently two Marriott Hotels located directly across the street from each other, which I did not know when I made the reservation. The beach and the mountain property. I don’t require a room with a view of the beach as long as the room is nice... But... The beach and the mountain properties are two completely different buildings. I stayed at the mountain view hotel... Was very disappointed with the hotel and the building. The ocean view building is across the street and judging by the lobby, etc... The beach building seems nicer and the pictures shown on the site are from the beach building, of course. I trusted the Marriott name and was very disappointed. Room and building is old and ugly... Some of the few power outlets in the room don’t work. I had TWO maintenance issues in my room. Gave me an iron that didn’t work... The staff often act as if you’re annoying them if you request anything. Bed wasn’t very comfortable. Television was old and outdated. Breakfast wasn’t that good... Looked better in the beach building... Over there they said mountain property wasn’t allowed to get breakfast in the ocean property... made an exception for me one morning, which was nice and I appreciated. But that was the ocean building. I seriously considered abandoning the room for a different hotel... Ended up just toughing it out... But... I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. If you decide to go with Marriott in SSH... Get a room that does NOT begin with 5,6, or 7.

sinceramente me ha decepcionado tanto el alojamiento que verdaderamente no lo recomiendo a nadie. En el hotel no se permite nada practicamente... todas son restricciones y prohibaciones .. simplemente por ser un hotel de 5 estrellas , es decepcionante

Vorab muss mal gesagt werden, dass Expedia den Fehler gemacht hat nicht anzufuehren auf welcher Seite man wohnt! Das Marriott ist in 2 Seiten geteilt, eine Strandseite mit guten modernen Zimmern und die Bergseite mit abgewohnten Zimmern und schlechtererm Service fuer Budget Touristen wie Russen die nur 500 Euro fuer eine Woche all inklusiv zahlen. Nachdem ich schon seit vielen jahren immer im Marriott Strand gewohnt habe, dieses mal das erste Mal ueber Expedia gebucht - hat der Manager freundlicherweise mir persoenlich ein kostenloses Upgrade fuer die Strandseite gegeben durch jahrelange Marriott Treue und Bonvoy Karte. Ich finde Expedia muss genau definierern wo die Leute wohnen um Enttaeuschungen zu vermeiden. Die Bergseite ist abgenutzt und ausserdem muss man taeglich einen langen Fussmarsch zum Strand machen - kein Spass!

Had to pay for a room I didn’t use and an upgrade on both rooms ( Room advertised said to sleep 4 i was forced to book an extra one that wasn’t used . We checked in a day later and left a day earlier. Still waiting for my refund.

Das Marriott wie eh und je..

Ich kenne Sharm und das Marriott von früher. Die Anlage ist nach wie vor herrlich. Leider hat sich in den letzten 20 Jahren das Klientel von den Honeymoon Italienern zu lauten neureichen Russen und Ärabern geändert. Ansonsten hat sich das Marriott wieder von seiner Besten Seite gezeigt. Insbesondere der Tepanyaki-Koch, welcher uns ein unvergesslicher Abend beschert hat.

The garden side of this hotel is great with beautifully maintained and extensive gardens. Apart from a hopeless and annoying pool barman every other experience was good. Sadly less than 10% occupancy, mostly Ukrainian.

From what we saw, one of the top two hotels on the Naama Bay 'strip'. Beach and associated watersports activities plentiful, good value and easy to book. Buffet breakfast as expected. Food at the beach restaurant exceeded expectations (although service was often a little slow). All staff courteous, helpful and friendly. Once of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in (I've visited 100+ different countries).
