Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve Tours

Our recent stay was overall very enjoyable, and we truly appreciated many aspects of the property. The food was consistently good, and we especially liked that the pools never felt overly crowded. The views—from both our room and the sky bar—were absolutely stunning and added a special touch to the experience. Service throughout the resort was attentive and prompt. A special mention goes to Francisco at the beach club, who was fantastic, and to our butler, Hector, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of every day. There are a few areas where enhancements could make the guest experience even better. For example, it would be nice to have a swim-up bar or a convenient spot to grab quick snacks by the pool. Additionally, for a room priced at over $900 per night, it seems reasonable to expect basic amenities like dish soap and laundry detergent to be provided without having to request them. For families traveling with young children, including essentials like milk with the upgraded snack service would also be a thoughtful touch. We did take advantage of the in-room babysitting service one evening. While we were initially a bit hesitant, Michelle was wonderful with our 20-month-old and quickly put us at ease. Overall, we had a lovely time and would certainly consider returning, especially with a few small improvements that would elevate the luxury experience to match the price point.

Showing Its Age – Some Highlights, but Won’t Be Back This is the oldest Hard Rock, and sadly, it’s starting to feel like it. The pool is warm, and the bartenders were great, but overall, the hotel lacks energy. Dining options are limited, and the layout is odd — Market and Ipanema are basically the same space. Caio was the best restaurant (shoutout to Jonathan and Moises), while Zen was by far the worst with undercooked rice and bland food. Entertainment felt low-effort — no real DJ, just a playlist and a worn speaker. Silent Disco was the highlight, but they cut it short even when guests wanted more. The beach is just okay, and there’s nothing to do nearby. If you plan to stay strictly on property, it’s fine. But if you want activities, shopping, or better food, this isn’t the place. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t count on the new AVA next door to be much better either.
