Thank you for your review, which is entirely down to you not having a bath in your room. This was not conveyed to us as a requirement of your stay prior to you arriving. the hotel was fully occupied on every night of your stay and we could not move you. this was explained to you when you first brought it to our attention and on the following 4 occasions you asked. The owner explained this to you on day 1 of your stay but as no cancellations occurred we could not move your room. Absolutely you should always contact the hotel direct, why book online via a 3rd party when you can book direct. The hotel staff have intimate knowledge of their property and services rather than rely upon a 3rd party website that only lists the property on their website and has little knowledge of the services and amenities available. You mention that you have stayed before and know and still decided to book via a 3rd party, one can only ask why?

Dear Anonymous and by way of balance, when you arrived and we asked had you received the email 3 days previously which is automatically sent to all guests giving information about the hotel's Coronavirus precautions you said 'yes I received an email but it didn't all come through'. So we had informed you prior that our bar and restaurant was closed on the dates of your visit but you had not read the e-mail. I'm sorry that you booked via a third party for your anniversary break away and did not speak to us prior about any special arrangement or type of room etc. Obviously once you realised that our bar/restaurant was not open we were never going to be the place for the type of stay you required. Good to see the public remain understanding of small independent business as we battle on post corona.

Dear Geoffery - thank you for your review, Your reservation as received was for a twin room, which we provided you with. The fact that we had to change it for a double room for you was absolutely no problem for us but you felt it important to report it here. A comprehensive breakfast buffet is included in your stay, this is detailed on all websites where the hotel is marketed. To state it consists of cereal & toast is as you know, deliberately misleading. I apologise if the guest information was missing from your room that should have been provided. All rooms ordinarily have guest information. The fire doors are indeed held open on 'retainers' , which are in fact electromagnets wired to the fire alarm system which in the case of a fire are automatically deactivated allowing the fire doors to close automatically. Guests do not ordinarily feel the need to tamper with the doors, so I do not know why you chose to do this. Wi-Fi in case you were not aware is very limited to say the least in such rural areas so a £2.50 per day charge for unlimited use of a satellite wi-fi system for your room is not punitive.
