We booked the two rooms overlooking the harbour (those are the four windows in the picture of the front of the pub). These two rooms are wonderfully spacious, with very comfortable beds, but slightly pokey shower rooms.......don't bring a cat.....no room to swing it. Our welcome was warm and very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the hotel team. The hotel part of the pub is atmospheric with lots of interesting pictures, but little things (like surprisingly cheap-looking bedroom doors) let it down a bit. We had dinner in the dining room at the rear of the hotel/pub: our meal was good value and the style of food I'd describe as good "pub food". Perhaps if the restaurant had tablecloths it would elevate the atmosphere a bit, which we found a little bit less special than we'd expected. But the table service was, like everything else there, friendly and welcoming. Breakfast the following morning was generous and tasty........buffet cereals, juice etc and cooked breakfasts to order and brought to the table.
Overall, this is a lovely location, with friendly welcoming hosts that, with just a bit more investment, would be a great "inn". It has huge potential. I hope that the friendly owners keep developing and improving the place. We would definitely return.
