“A great hotel in the historical part of Changsha very close to the world famous new development areas such as IFS and Wuyi Square. Inexpensive didi to all famous areas. Decor is preserved Changsha of an era bygone just prior to the new developments and is charming in its own way -- including a antique elevator that may make some western travelers a little less comfortable. We really enjoyed the "aunties" who manage the laundry room - providing essentially a "just drop off your dirty laundry...

“The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and their service was very generous; they were always trying to assist and were excellent guides on our tours. I should clarify that the breakfast is very basic, I completely understand that, but Robbie and her husband deserve top marks for their excellent service.”

“The staff was amazing and helpful and hotel was very nice with a good location”

“Stunning Grand Hotel quality for a fraction of 5Star price. Just NOT to look for it on DiDi by name, only by address: Avatar Valley Grand Hotel is actually “ Zhangjiajie Country Garden Phoenix Hotel” We had luck with a friendly DiDi driver that helped us and called their local number to verify location. Breakfast buffet room looks like an Opera House. Swimming Pools are huge. Not crowded at all for the 1400 rooms available. Late August, maybe seeemed maybe 10% occupied. Amazingly helpful Staff...
