This place is undergoing renovation so the room was freshly painted with new furniture (and a pile of mattresses in the parking lot). It still had a slight musty order. The front lobby/dining area was very smoky. What really turned us off was the lack of security. There were a bunch of teen age kids running around and in the back people had their doors open and were playing loud music--at 11:00 PM. We ended up not even staying the whole night.

Very disappointing experience — we left within minutes This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. The Quality Inn in South Hill is one of the first hotels you come to when getting off I-85, so it’s a convenient location for travelers. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but comfortable. The front desk clerk who checked us in that night was not welcoming or friendly. She was very short with us, and the overall interaction did not feel professional or hospitable. The first room we were given was on the first floor and had an adjoining door. We could clearly hear the guests in the room next door, the light would not come on, and the door lock felt very loose. I immediately went back and asked for another room. We were given a room upstairs, but it wasn't much better. There was an unpleasant smell, the lock was also loose, and there was a large, very visible dark stain on the bedspread and sofa. I understand that this is a budget hotel, and I am not expecting luxury. But clean bedding without visible stains, clean furniture, functioning lights, and secure locks are basic necessities. If furniture is stained, washable covers can be used to keep it clean and presentable. Being a budget hotel shouldn't mean guests have to overlook basic cleanliness and security.

I enjoyed everything about the stay but the breakfast was delicious l haven’t stayed in many hotels where I was satisfied with the continental breakfast alone and had enough without having to go buy anything to get full nourishment

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It was absolutely filthy from stains on the walls, dried urine around the toilet, spots on the mirror and a bathroom door that had obviously been kicked in at some point and just glued back together. I would have left had it not been so late and if there were any other options available.

Fairly dirty. What surprised us the most was we found a pair of black socks next to the toilet. This concerns me because if they missed a pair of socks, how clean could they have possibly cleaned the room?

The first room the floor and all surfaces were not clean. There was hair and stains on the bed sheets. Also one of the outlets was melted fire catching on fire. I went to the office to request a new room which was approved and given. The second room was better. The sheets were clean although the floors were still dirty.
