"Overall, our experience staying at the Sophia wasn’t bad at all. The night we got there there was a little issue with the sliding door in the bathroom getting stuck and not being able to open, the staff made their way to our room and at least helped to get it unstuck. I like the proximity to a lot of the fun stuff downtown San Diego. I would definitely stay here again."
"This property was beautiful and
the rooms were great. Pool staff very nice. The things we did not like about this location was the front desk staff and the restaurant. After driving 9 hrs with a 9,7and 3 yr old we were ready to relax in the room. We arrived 3:30 (check in is at 4) they informed us room wasn’t ready so gave us key to explore the grounds( she was very pleasant) and informed us they would give us a text to come back for keys. By 5:10 still no text so called front desk and was put on hold and then came back on to say room was ready. When I arrived I asked why no text and how long room has been ready and was told your here now and let’s just finish getting you checked in. I at this point was not upset just a question because we had been waiting so long so he asked for the key back they gave to explore the grounds and upon giving it to him he just tossed key aside as I was bothering him. At this point now I was a little upset at his demeanor. I told him I don’t appreciate the way he is handling this as it was on them that they I believe forgot to text us. He responded again since you are standing here now let’s just get this done. As for the restaurant for 1hr no one answered phone to order out. When someone finally answered put on hold 20 min. Hung up called back said was very busy ordered our food went to pickup food and there were only 3 tables with guests. There was going to be a wedding there that weekend and they were the first priority in my thoughts."
"Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Quiet and comfortable. Walking distance to Disneyland & nearby restaurants. Staff will allow you to park there for the day if you are going to Disneyland prior to check in."
"I was apprehensive about staying here...and I was pleasantly surprised at the friendliness of the staff, eager to help, even going out of there way when I landed early. Truly appreciated that. They suggested great places for food and to visit.
My room was lovely, clean, bed was comfortable. My only suggestion is that I prefer non carpeted surfaces, perhaps in time that will be updated.
I really enjoyed my stay, the staff was consistently helpful in all areas. I would be very happy to return. It's convenient to many things in San Diego."
"We love this property it has beautiful views no matter where you stay. It’s so close to everything. And the bay is the best part. They have boats to rent and if you want to stay at the hotel they have a huge pool."
"Parking was easy. Bath and Body products were full size pumps not the little tiny ones. Water pressure in the shower was good. Bed was comfy. Pillows are decent. Everything was very clean, 10/10 would use again! Way better than I expected for the value."
