"Beautiful, convenient luxury hotel. Great friendly and helpful service.
My 17 son and I stayed 1 night while traveling from Samoa to the Kuata Island for Shark Diving. The Hilton is .4 miles from the Denarii ferry port, with a free shuttle there.
We had a Suite with a Master bedroom and convert- couch bed in the living room. Full Kitchen, BBQ, long deck, and a washer/dryer we used to clean all of our clothes for the 2nd half of our trip.
The resultants were nice, we had dinner on the beach. The breakfast in the AM was also good, many pools. Staff was friendly, helpful and they have a a golf-car style shuttle to take you back and forth.
A+ experience."
"Staff so kind, place was clean, had an issue with what we thought was a broken door (ended up we just didn’t pull hard enough) & were pleased to see how quickly they addressed that. They got us cabs quickly, everyone always smiling. Comfy bed & pillows. We feel like buffets are wasteful for us since we don’t eat much. I wish they had pastries for sale at their little coffee stand. So we walked next door & got a coffee & pastry from there. When the place is busy, takes a very long time to get a drink from the bar, like an hour. Other than that, no complaints. Highly recommend."
DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Fiji - Sonaisali Island
8/10 Good
"We recently stayed at the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton on Sonaisali Island. While the resort has its charms, there are several crucial things future travelers should be aware of before booking.
What to Know Before You Go:
Isolated Without a Car: I would strictly recommend this resort only to travelers who have a rental car and the ability to easily get off the island.
Limited Pool & No Swimming Beach: There is no real beach area suitable for swimming here. Additionally, the resort only has one pool, which makes options feel very limited and crowded during peak times.
Lack of Liveliness: The resort felt a bit quiet. I really wish there were more organized kids' activities and a bit more overall liveliness around the property.
Connectivity Issues: The Wi-Fi was very poor, and there was almost zero cell phone service. If you need to stay connected or do any remote work, it's a major struggle.
Slow Check-In: Just like our experience elsewhere, our rooms were not ready at the promised 3:00 PM check-in time, and we had to wait.
The Highlights:
Wonderful Staff: The saving grace of this property is the people. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and great to deal with.
Dining Notes: The food options on the island are very limited, and they definitely need more than just a few choices. However, the Fijian buffet they put on was absolutely fantastic and a highlight of the stay.
Swim up bar is cool and the bartender was awesome!"
"Great value, get what you pay for and the staff were excellent and very friendly, shower pressure is really good location was great with parking was a bonus’s."
"I had a fantastic stay 😌From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond, and I was thrilled to receive a complimentary room upgrade. The new room was spacious, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The breakfast spread was another major highlight—a huge variety of delicious, fresh options with great coffee. Highly recommended 😃"
"The property was clean and well presented. Rooms were comfortable however some staff did not enjoy responding to requests almost seeming annoyed they were asked."
"Place was well kept and in close proximity to everything, easy to get around even by foot.
The only downside is that there can be a lot of noise from guests at the bar close to the reception. My only suggestion would be either keep the bar upstairs only or book a room away from main reception.
Otherwise the staff are so kind and always willing to help and make sure you’re enjoying your time in Fiji"
"Staff excellent. Felt looked after from the second we entered the property and until leaving. The restaurant by the water was a highlight and we loved the food and cocktails. The music entertainment was amazing too. Such a good way to finish our holiday."
