"2nd visit to GS within 6 months. 1st visit wasnt a fluke, and this hotel is perfect (almost - read on).... Location, incredibly hospitable and efficient staff from top to bottom, cleanliness, food and drink, etc. Will definitely be back upon it's re-opening in April. The ONLY negative is the fact that there is no aircon in the building. It's southerly facing aspect can't help either in this respect. I heard from the staff that 35° in the summer were quite uncomfortable. Yes I know each room has a fan, and I realise the building is older and it cannot be retro fitted, but a mobile unit at least in each room would help a good deal. IMO it's an issue that cant be ignored for much longer."

"This hotel has such a lot going for it. Nestled into the hillside it has commanding views over the bay and both the dining room and terrace benefit from the position. The breakfast is one of the best we have had and is well-stocked no matter what time you arrive. What really makes this hotel are the staff who are all well trained and work efficiently as a team. So many places seem to suffer as a result of lack of staff but The Cristina really has got it right. They all seem to enjoy their work and relate well to guests, The restaurant menu is limited if you are staying for a lengthy period but food is creative and well presented. For those without a car the bus service is efficient but getting to the bus stop demands quite a demanding walk downhill (and back up when you're tired!) Our only criticism is the monotonous music that is played in the lounge area but most people seemed to be able to ignore it. All in all a great stay."
