We go to State College for the mountains surrounding it and all the State Parks. Autumn is a great time to visit for the leaves changing colors. There are multiple places to eat, almost all the chain restaurants are nearby.

State College was a fine town. There is not much around it, but it has most everything you will need while you're in town. They use a phone app for parking downtown, so I would recommend downloading it before you go, so you have it when you need it.

Off season but still fun. Lots of construction on campus so we couldn't see everything we wanted to. For example the All Sports Museum.

Generally pleasant and convenient; can get hectic when students are fully in session. Crowded during football weekends

Our purpose was to sleep and get back on the road. Yet the vibes of State College slipped in. Within walking distance of the hotel we found a great restaurant, Marzonni's, where we enjoyed the food and the young men who were talking football.
"Beautiful hotel with lovely sitting and common areas. Very clean and perfect for those travelling with pets or who are visiting the Penn State campus. "
"This is a fantastic property with college themed rooms that really make the experience fun. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. The only negative is that the elevators are not working great and could definitely be updated for better customer service. We will be back soon."
"This was a last minute decision based on displeasure with another accommodation in the area. The front desk was extremely helpful and the breakfast (coffee!!) provided was appreciated."
