Forest of Dean is interesting area between Wye and Severn with a special history. Easy access to Monmouthshire. You may see harmless wild boar Can't miss the evidence of roadside grass verges dug up in their search for food.”

“This place wasn’t what we hoped for so we didn’t stay. The room was not as big as it seemed on photos, no room to put our suitcases out. Room was dated and doors opened out onto parking lot. Very dark, no lights outside and muddy from a water main break. To make matters worse, a policeman knocked on door to say there had been an armed robbery nearby and offender was seen nearby. Very scary and unnerving. We decided we couldn’t stay and found another hotel. Swan House were not willing to refund....

“Excellent hotel Well located Great breakfast and evening meals Good communal lounge areas Quirky specious room (double) Only downside was that we found the room very warm,(we had a couple of warm April days) there was a fan it didn’t really cool the room, just glad it wasn’t peak Summer. Limited parking onsite 4 spaces, but enough on street parking so no issue. Enjoyable stay overall.”

“Hotel in the process of changing hands,only one staff , no evening meals or breakfast.Room not what i booked, bathroom required better cleaning. No milk or cup for tea. ”

“A nice friendly farm B and B. I was in the anex which was a 1st floor room with the bath room below. It had a whirlpool bath. I found everything clean and usable. It had a small cupboard style kitchenette which was nice with a sink element and plates, cups and cutlery with tea and coffee. The breakfast was in the main farm house next door which was nice and cooked to order by the host who was very helpful and polite. All in all I would use this accommodation again. Thanks ”
