Great rooms and tasty food

Great place. Friendly people too! Great breakfast! Wish we had time for their cream teas! Going to be buying a voucher for my family to come back and do a cream tea! Rooms were great...good tv options. Shower was nice.

Fabulous

Excellent stay, room was immaculate and very comfortable, breakfast was delicious. The host and his staff are very welcoming, giving useful information about where to visit. Will definitely return here when we are in the area.

I stayed for 4 nights during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the place was. I received a wonderfully warm welcome from the owner Martin who showed me to my room which was immaculate. He even got up earlier than usual to make breakfast so I could get to work on time each morning. I will definitely be staying here again when I`m next in the area, or at least calling in for a cuppa and a chat with Martin if passing by.

Nice rooms with a fantastic breakfast

Very nice owner and staff. Lovely location with very easy parking. Breakfast was fantastic and very good quality. It would be great if there was a big boy option on the quantities though. 5 items was a little shy for me. The room we stopped in was on the ground floor and self catering. We were a bit confused that there was a sign saying we could not bring back takeaways to the room but we could cook on the cooker etc. provided. The bedroom, living room area and kitchen are all open plan, so no going to be early for 1 partner! There are a few quirks but nothing too serious. You may not want this room if you are higher than 6 foot though. I am 5 11 and only just able to use the shower. I personally did not find the bed very comfortable, it felt like sleeping in a hamock to me. This may well just be me though.

This place wasn’t what we hoped for so we didn’t stay. The room was not as big as it seemed on photos, no room to put our suitcases out. Room was dated and doors opened out onto parking lot. Very dark, no lights outside and muddy from a water main break. To make matters worse, a policeman knocked on door to say there had been an armed robbery nearby and offender was seen nearby. Very scary and unnerving. We decided we couldn’t stay and found another hotel. Swan House were not willing to refund. Hotels.com did give us key cash of $50 for trouble.

Top in all respects in my experience

What a great little place with a great host. Super clean, virtually new in all respects, extremely comfortable, extremely easy to access a couple of the ground floor rooms (one of which we had, which being minus my right leg, was extremely convenient), with an extremely genial host. Plenty of parking just a few yards from the entrance to the ground floor rooms, extremely comfortable beds, free in room wifi, excellent range of breakfast options and our choices were freshly cooked and promptly served. I could go on and on but basically, I can't fault it and can highly recommend it, all I would say is that if you want as much space as you can get, mention it to the owner and if it's free you'll get the self contained apartment. One little tip, use the name and not the postcode when trying to find it using a satnav.
