My room was over an entrance to the carpark so the room was very cold.
The radiator never really got particularly hot even with the valve fully open.
I asked at reception if I could have a portable heater and was told they didn't have any. Hard to believe in a building of this size. I feel it was more that she couldn't be bothered to look for one.
At one point I resorted to using the hairdryer to warm the room!!
Room was dirty, dust, cobwebs, and spiders everywhere.
Decor tired. Old wooden sash windows all latches broken, paint peeling, wallpaper peeling.
Every electrical appliance PAT testing out of date, some by almost 3 years!
The cold tap in the bathroom has to run on full bore for 4 minutes before it gets warm. What a waste!
Restaurant food acceptable but nothing special. Cutlery dirty, dried food on plates, and coffee stains in cups.
No bottled water in the room, but £3 for a 300ml bottle in the bar!
Good points:
Breakfast excellent.
Free Parking.
Nice old building full of character.
Bed comfy.
Not much else.
