"Check in was poor. Computer system was not working, so check-in took much longer than expected. Clerk had to manually write information on a piece of paper. Was given two room cards but neither of them worked to open the door to the room. It turned out that the batteries in the door entry system were dead. I was given room cards to a 2nd room, but it smelled like cigarette smoke in there. Refused the room and was told someone went to get batteries for the original room. Eventually got into the original room once batteries were replaced. Changed clothes for event I was attending and later in the evening when I returned, the room key did not work! Went back to desk and the room key was again reprogrammed and I was able to get into the room."

"While it had "historic inn" charm, all the accoutrements and hardware were modern and thoughtfully installed and presented. The bathroom was especially luxurious and even included a large jacuzzi tub. The large room and bathroom were impeccably clean and though we eschewed maid service by displaying a Do Not Disturb card we returned to our room to discover a neatly wrapped bag of fresh towels placed outside the door. The driveway leading uphill to the outbuilding we shared with perhaps four other guest rooms was a bit rough but any modern vehicle could easily traverse it at a slow pace. The soundproofing was exceptional and we only sensed the presence of other guests by observing their parked cars and meeting them while traversing the charming garden path to the main building and dining room."

"The fireplace was lovely and the room was cozy and attractive. The bathroom was spacious and clean, however we weren’t able to locate any extra t.p. I would advise people that the staircase going up to the rooms is quite steep. We were able to manage ok, but anyone with difficulty with stairs would have a challenge. The breakfast voucher for breakfast was great and we enjoyed a lovely meal. We also had a wonderful time at The Kate at a Blues concert. Overall, very satisfied with our overnight stay."
