Hotel is overall clean. Staff was friendly at check-in and during our stay there was always someone at the counter. Location is a bit away from city center, but uber or taxi are very convenient and economical. Would stay there again if my trip requires high speed rail to/from TPE again.

The location is convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the train and MRT stations. If you have luggage, taking a taxi from Taichung High-Speed Rail Station is more convenient and costs around NTD120-130. There’s a McDonald’s and a 7-Eleven next door. Dining options nearby are limited, and most restaurants close by 8 p.m. and take afternoon breaks. A supermarket nearby is open until midnight. It’s not a luxury hotel, but the room is fairly spacious and comfortable. The lighting could be brighter, and the staff are not very enthusiastic, but overall it offers good value for the price.

For the cost, I was incredibly impressed by the condition of the room and even the functionality of the bathroom. When traveling in Taiwan, I'm not often sure what I get when I book a hotel at good price. However, the Hesper was great and I would definitely book there again.

I emailed the hotel a week before arriving to ask some questions and they never got back to me. But at the hotel the staff were actually friendly. The hotel is NOT very near the HSR, you actually have to take the MRT and then walk another 15 min along a road with no pavement (so you are literally walking on the road). Transport aside, it does have a McDonald’s and 7 eleven next to it and a few eateries nearby

Be prepared for walking...despite its name, it is not very close to Taichung HSR station - it is a 7-10min walk on busy roads. The roads are rather dark at night, hence solo/ female/ family travellers or those with alot of luggage may want to take note (otherwise take a cab there). The hotel is in a nice little town WuRi, no touristy stuff here. Have to pay extra for cleaning btw (only stayed 2 days so did not opt for that). Bed is queen size so its small. Service staff are great.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was disappointing. The staff appeared indifferent and unwelcoming, lacking the basic courtesy and professionalism expected in hospitality service, which came across as cold and somewhat arrogant. The hotel facilities were very basic. In the bathroom, only hand soap was provided, with no other standard toiletries available, which was inconvenient. In addition, the towels and bath towels did not appear clean or fresh, as they were noticeably off-white, raising concerns about hygiene. Considering the service quality and the condition of the facilities, this hotel did not meet expectations and offered poor value for the price.
