Breakfast could of been warmer, the plate's on the first date were cold. Food quality was good.Food and plates were warm on the second day as we arrived at the very start of service. Minor complaint every thing else was excellent.

Fantastic venue, room was stunning, staff were amazing. The only downside was the Wine Cellar bar was closed and we had been told to go to by friends. The 1851 Restaurant was superb, the food was top class. All around, would recommend highly a visit.

I noticed hair in the shower between the shower head attachment. Also I noticed stains on the walls, however apart from these minor issues probably the best place I've ever stayed at.

Peckerton Castle - A must visit place. Lovely place aesthetically. Set in woodlands and still. has the old worldly essence of its time. Some staff seemed friendlier than others and we thank you - you know who you are. Lovely place to have a weekend. The rooms were clean and homely. Dinner in Brasserie was good. Breakfast in 1871 restaurant was good and staff accommodated need well. Lovely fare. Overall I would go back to Peckerton Castle.

We went to this place for a wedding. It was not cheap to stay here for 2 nights and we had high hopes due to the cost of the room. On arrival we were warmly greet and given our room key. Navigating the hotel wasn’t easy and on finding our room the room was small with only a double bed in it. We noticed quickly once in the room there was a loose floor board outside the room and when anyone walked past our room the noise of the loose floor board echoed in our room which made relaxing and sleeping very difficult. The bed when trying to sleep was far too soft causing my other half to sleep on the floor as it was more comfortable. The room was quite basic and the decoration looked dated and not in a good way. The rooms looked run down and you could see paint marks around the room. The TV in the room was on the side wall which meant it was awkward to watch in bed and there was nowhere else you could watch it from. The bathroom was badly thought out, the shower was very strong which was great but lead to water covering all the bathroom floor with no way to stop it. The rooms were very hot and stuffy with only a small window to open. They did provide a fan but there was only limited surfaces to place this on for both guests to benefit from this. The food at the hotel was to a good standard but we was informed we was best booking in advance as may not be able to get a table otherwise. The drinks were quite expensive and a service charge was automatically applied on every drink.

This is a stunning location but honestly there were little things that really need attending to . We stayed on a sunday, skeleton staff many seemed to be inexperienced, couldn't have a cafe latte at breakfast "we dont do these up here' meaning the restaurant! No cocktail list in the bar in fact no drinks list . Sorry just a little shabby

This hotel is out of the ordinary it is a very old property that has been made into a hotel The rooms are basic my only complaint is that the double bed was not big enough my husband is 6ft 2 and it was a bit of a squeeze Our evening meal in the 1815 restaurant was excellent and after a few drinks in the wine cellar bar we slept well 😊 I wanted to stay at this hotel because my great grandmother was born in the toll house at the entrance to the estate her father was the gardener for the Tollemache family who owned the castle It has not disappointed.

Absolutely stunning
Excellent check in, beautiful old castle room, comfortable stay & delicious breakfast, although a closer eye on hot food stocks would help - I ate breakfast in parts as no eggs out.

An opportunity to stay in a castle in the Cheshire countryside. The backdrop of the castle is really nice. This hotel appears to survive on the number of weddings it hosts. The gents toilet on the evening of the wedding was filthy and clearly not monitored and managed through the evening very often. The room we stayed was quiet and well away from the wedding - it was ok but dated. For some reason two Henry vacuums were stored in the walkways to the room rather than in a cleaners cupboard. The dinner room lacked atmosphere- but the food was really tasty. The staff seemed to disappear quite a bit - it took ages to get served drinks. The hotel staff were ok but didn’t really wow or engage that much to reflect the grandeur of the location.

This is not a 4 star hotel
I'm an American who has a bucket list item to spend a night in a castle and I found Pekforton on the route of my road trip in England. Boy was I disappointed. The exterior itself and grounds were stunning, but the interior was.... well, think they turned an old castle in to a hotel some time in the late 70's to early 80's and left it alone. It's a 2 star hotel at best. The walls were paper thin, you can hear everything going on including a couple having a shag (unfortunately the highlight of the stay). The floor boards creak like nothing I've ever heard before. The beds are uncomfortable and the staff acted like they were better than us. We decided to try the restart down stairs, which was at least half empty, and we were told because we didn't have a reservation that we would have to eat in the lounge across the hall behind reception. Upon ordering we were immediately presented with the bill and made to pay before we received our food. The food was good, but by that time I knew I was going to get up in the morning and get the heck out of there.
The decor is very dated.
This is the only indication you're in a stone castle from inside the room.
If you've never stayed in a hotel in England, this is how they make a tub in to a shower. It makes a mess.

It is a fantastic place to stay, let down by a sub standard double, where fixtures to the tap in the bathroom was missing, Bit grubby round the edges and the ironing board stuck on the side of the wardorobe, made it look cheap. We were not offered to book a table for a meal or recommended to go elsewhere. Just think it could be better managed on arrival. Felt we were guests in the background of a wedding taking place.

Mother Daughter retreat
Stayed for one night as a break with my adult daughter. Loved it from beginning to end. Staff always polite and friendly, meal small but delicious, room perfect. Would definitely recommend.

It was amazing, stayed in a turret room lots of steps to the top of the tower but was just lovely. Large room, comfy bed. Food was very good & service was good too we will definitely return.

Disappointing in many areas and over priced for the facilities and standard. The hotel seemed to be struggling and I was really disappointed to find they have closed the pool, gym and spa. They have a beautiful bar which opens at 5pm but before then the only place to get a drink was the restaurant bar which we then had to take to a small lounge behind reception, not particularly cosy and had a huge tv playing weddings on a loop which was a little weird. It felt like a sales pitch rather than somewhere to relax. Breakfast was also disappointing. Cold coffee and cold toast accompanied a Travel Lodge style buffet breakfast. We also didn’t find the hotel relaxing, we were woken at 8am by housekeeping who had wedged the door open to the communal staircase right outside our room and used this as their base for the morning (including their morning catch up). When they finally went off to do their chores, the noise was replaced by the team building event outside. I wouldn’t stay here again. The hotel seems to be focused on weddings / team events rather than being a good hotel.
