It is in a perfect spot fot the hot springs and the dinner across the street was good. Nice place. If i had to complain, the extra foldout bed was very uncomfortable.

The staff was so nice and helpful. The man who cooked the breakfast was extremely polite and helped with information and history about the area. Breakfast there was really good. The water, milk, juice options, hot cookies, and coffee throughout the day/night time was a blessing! We enjoyed the hot springs hot tub daily! We enjoyed being right in the park so close to the boardwalk, swimming options and historical sites.

We will follow up with our third party representative to fix the underlying issue. We experienced technical issue that left our actual rooms and the rooms available online to be out of sync.

The front desk was awesome, the first room was mot clean plates of food left under the bed and was full of ants. Ants were everywhere. She moved us to another room and everything was great. The breakfast was top notch.the staff were great.

We showed up to the property completely exhausted. My wife checked us in and let our kids nap not knowing exactly what I had booked. I was at a wrestling tournament with our oldest. She then notified me that the room was a basic room with two double beds. We had reserved a king suite so that everyone would be accommodated. I notified the front desk of my issue to which they blamed Expedia. Front desk was adamant that Expedia was at fault and there was nothing they could do. I reached out to Expedia via virtual chat. The first person I talked to in The chat treated me like I was an idiot and blamed the entire fiasco on the hotel. The first virtual chat person left the chat mid solution after making me insanely frustrated and without a solution. I had to begin a brand new chat with Expedia and was again told that the hotel was to blame and that I was somehow at fault but in no way was Expedia at fault. The only solution Expedia could offer for my $170 dollar room was a $50 Expedia cash voucher to be used through Expedia only. The best western plaza then charged me for the pre paid room when we checked out for $219 after we had pre paid through Expedia. Overall the experience was terrible. We go to that hotel annually but I feel like we have visited for the last time. Expedia has lost my business as well. Customer service is no longer a thing. It’s a lost art. What a whiny review over a simple thing that could’ve been completely resolved with refund rather than blame.

check in was slow and they gave me a key to someone else's room. then the next room they gave me had used soap and towels and when they went back to clean it, my key no longer worked so I had to go back a third time and get a new key. yogurt was a month past expiration at breakfast and coffee was like water

room was ok, bathroom was remodeled but we found someone elses brush in the chair and also notes under the night stand from a previous guest. room was not cleaned very well if those things were still in the room. Paint in hallway was all over the floor and ended up bringing some of the paint chips home in our luggage.

Our stay was comfortable. We have always enjoyed staying at this property. However, due to a problem with the third party we used to pay the hotel there was trouble running our card for the deposit. I called the third party and was told they would call the hotel. They did not call. The next day the GM told us we would have to pay for the room again or she could not check us out. I believe she felt that the whole matter was our fault because we used a third party.She kept telling us we would have to fix it. I called the third party again and fortunately the woman I spoke with straightened the matter out without us paying for the room again. I will say the young woman who checked us in was very pleasant and did what she could to resolve the issue.

the antiquety was nice the room was cold especially the bathroom floor and sounded like the other residents were in the room with you i will never pay for a premium room that is so crappy

Convenient for a weekend fishing trip. Bed was comfortable, but heat lamp in bathroom was not working and couldn't get the portable space heater to work. the interior rooms are loud--you can hear people talking loudly in the hot spring/courtyard until quiet hours begin. The door to the rooms slams loudly as does each room door in your quad. Breakfast is underwhelming. Tried to make a cup of tea, but the hot water carafe was empty.

Really close to the hot springs. Hot springs pool on site. Great breakfast, including homemade cookies and real plates and silver. Everyone was very friendly. Unique hotel building with history and on the national register of historic buildings. Great place to stay.

Cool old building, great breakfast, some problems
The hotel, hot tub, and breakfast were great. I was really happy to find many dairy-free options at breakfast! The hot tub was lovely and relaxing. We enjoyed our time, but there were a few issues. The manager wasn’t someone we’d want to work for. When we saw her, she was sitting around on her phone or scolding an employee. She was nice to us, but we wouldn’t want to work under her. The crown molding beside the table in the breakfast room was pretty thick with dust - kinda gross. Our daughter spent all night coughing, which leads us to wonder about mold because she seems sensitive to that. It’s an old historic building, and the screws above the shower were rusty, so mold seems likeliest. All in all, we won’t stay there again.

I was not given the room I booked. When I complained I was told first that there are only two such rooms in the hotel, implying that I was not allowed such a room. Then that there was a problem with the room I booked and it was unavailable. Then that a family had that room and has been there for five days and could not be moved. Then finally, that they are “allowed” to substitute rooms without notice if a room is comparable which mine was not in any way. Had I not complained I would have been charged the same price for a room I did not get. They are terrible. Finally the room I was in had not had the bathroom cleaned. There was hair all over the floor. The toilet seat was soiled and so worn that the underlying wood was showing through. Really really terrible.

The room that we stayed in had been remodeled, poorly. Two of the electrical outlets wouldn’t hold a plug, floor jams by the door were either missing or not smooth. The remodeled bathroom had mold in the shower corners and ceiling. The floor needed sweeping, a good dusting was also needed.

Front desk problem
Front desk guy was rude. Our room key did not work. Had to go back twice and he was told to go check on the lock. He said it wasnt his job and he didnt have time for that. We didnt get the room we wanted but certainly didnt need his bad attitude!

Disappointed in Thermopolis!
We usually stay across the street but thought we would treat ourselves and spend the extra money. It was NOT worth it! We waited 45 minutes to check in. The room was NOT clean. The hallway was dirty. It looked like they had swept the rooms and forgot to sweep the hallway. The toilet was not clean and there was a spider web complete with spider and bugs in the bathroom’s main corner. The bed would not stay on the box spring. Every time you got up it slid off. All in all a disappointing stay.

The facility was dirty and the housekeeping was basically non-existent. I would not recommend this hotel to anyway staying in Thermopolis.

Very loud air conditioner. Woke us up every time it clicked on during night. Security light outside was directed right into our window, so the shade was not sufficient to stop the light bleeding in. Linoleum on floor was buckled between bed and table and floor had not been swept. Good breakfast and beautiful surroundings.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely old hotel located in a state park. Our only complaint is the temp of the room when we arrived-61 on a day when it was in the 90s. We had to open windows to warm up the room. That’s not eco friendly

Stay away
Stay away from this place. They charge you over two hundred dollars a night for an old out dated hotel. I rented a king suite with a bed so hard i couldn't sleep. It ruined our whole vacation. Rented it for two nights and had to leave after one. They refused to give me a refund for the second night. Bad customer service.

The air conditioning was broken and they did not tell us that a temporary floor air conditioner was substituted. It was so loud that no one could have slept with it on. We had to leave the hotel the next day as they could not change our room. We would not have stayed there at all if we had been informed of the problems.
