The hotel itself was good for what we needed for two nights. It is clean, basic, and comfortable. We were in town to visit and sightsee, not stay in a hotel room, so it met our price needs. The people at the front desk were extremely friendly, welcoming and very helpful. There is a tram stop right outside the front door for an easy to use public transportation system. Our only complaint is about something not in the control of the hotel. The open air drug use and used needles on the sidewalk a block west and in many other places in downtown Toronto.

The location can't be beat. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was memorable. Very helpful. The room is small thats ok..just use it to sleep and shower. No need to hang around to much to do and see. Continental breakfast discontinued no one was using it. Coffee and tea provided. You can't beat the price either. Ty you Chas and Sidera u r the best. Even gave my friend a an umbrella to use .

Front desk staff was very nice and welcoming, helped us find overnight parking at about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Bedrooms were a place to sleep for the night, tv didn’t work but we were out anyways. If you’re in toronto for a night or two and arent boujee this place works just fine. Room was clean, sheets were clean, hotel was quiet at night. An extra plug or two by the bed would be nice.

The room was a good size with a double bed (maybe queen? I can’t remember). The hotel looks recently renovated, and it’s good. The AC worked pretty well to keep the room at my desired temperature, minus the bathroom which I liked. Easy check in and check out experience, plus the hotel had a street car stop right out front the door, plus a few Bikeshare locations within walking distance. Lyft/Uber prices are also reasonable for the location, especially if you are going to Union station (cost me $10 with priority pick up at 10:00am). Highly recommend checking this hotel out if you need a good place to stay. But if you have mobility problems (cane, wheelchair, crutches, etc.), there are only stairs at this hotel as far as I could tell.

Was all clean and tidy and looked recently renovated. However we were put in a suite over the road on lower ground floor. Was very noisy when trams pass by throughout the night. Also area to the west was a meeting spot for drug addicts ( about 500m away) although this is an area problem rather than the accommodation itself. Trans stop right outside which is a bonus if you can sleep through them passing.

Staff was very helpful upon arrival and showed us to our rooms. The place was clean and well maintained. Only complaint is the bathroom was way too small and water got everywhere on the floor from the sink for being so small. Otherwise, my stay was quite pleasant for 1 night.

I needed a place to stay last minute in Toronto and the Royal Oak Inn was a good price in the right area. I arrived late in the evening having made a reservation 1.5 hours prior and had no issues checking in. The gentleman at the front desk was very polite, welcoming, and helpful. Check in was very quick, and he had great food suggestions close-by (East Coast Donair was the right choice). No elevators, but I only had a small bag with me so no problems being on the second floor. My room was relatively clean-not perfect but nothing I was concerned about. The bed was comfortable and I was able to get a great sleep. Check-out was 11am and It was as easy as check-in. The staff were definitely the most memorable for me. Both people I interacted with were very nice.

Unfortunately the only positive was the check in staff was very friendly and assuring the area was safe and the bed was comfortable. We were grateful when we arrived as the walk there was very uncomfortable (drugs/homeless). The hotel and room is very old and run down, very minimal. Spend the extra couple hundred to be closer to the main DT attractions.

Across from a homeless shelter. Not a safe area for a family. Some rooms are in a completely different apartment. Our exterior door did not lock and was directly across from many vagabonds. Shower was dirty, room was a basement apartment, shook every 5 minutes with the street car going by. One of 2 mattresses were worn out and wirery. Bathroom not cleaned, floor was filthy and made our white socks black in seconds

Somewhat of a sketchy area of town during the day but at night, it’s fine, perfectly safe no noisy people or street people or anything. Hotel is in an older building but rooms are very clean good linens nice beds clean hallways. It was released expensive place in town and was better than most motel sixes or whatever you’ll see in this price range usually

Clean bed and bathroom. Once you’re inside the hotel it is fine, but the neighborhood is terrible. There drug distribution center close by. Don’t expect to walk around to explore. Take your uber and go. Place is ok for a short stay. I wasn’t expecting much and they delivered what you pay for. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is close to downtown core. Just reasonable price in the crazy hotel market of Toronto. I would stay again if needed.
