While Kayaking on the mighty Black River between Dexter, New York and Brownville New York we came across the Giant of the Black River. He is only viewable when the shadows are just right.
Dating to 1892 this tower was used to store water for the barracks as well as other base buildings at Fort Tompkins. The base was in use from the early 1800's until being decommissioned in 1955.
General Mark Clark's Birthplace. Not included in his accomplishments here is the fact that he was president of The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina in Charleston. #TheCitadel
