Nice, clean hotel in a quaint up north town. Front desk person directed us to good nearby restaurant. Lovely pool area! Breakfast offerings were very good. I would stay here again.

Less a resort and more of a dormitory
Pool and hot tub were out of commission. They supposedly emailed, but not sure if I got the message since I booked through hotels.com Room was fairly clean but run down. TV was a pretty old 720p 23" with no features like a channel guide. Wifi worked AOK. Bathroom and shower were clean. Less resort and more like dormitory for travelling workers. Be prepared to be awoken around 5am by the early working guests getting ready for the day.

I'm sorry you were not thrilled with your stay. Most of rooms have either 43in or 52in Roku TV's. I am sorry that you must have gotten one of the old t.v.s that has not yet died on us. Unfortunately they named us over 30 years ago so, although we would rather be called a lodge or hotel, we are stuck with the name as ownership would prefer not to make sure big changes at the moment.

No bacon on the breakfast
Fan in the bathroom sounded like an old witch flying away laughing. Dude standing in camo behind the counter with a pistol hanging out of his butt felt like an unnecessary precaution seeing as the hotel was in the middle of back country Michigan, but I don’t think he worked there. I think he was just flirting with the desk staff. Other than this, it was a great stay and I had a great time. Thank you!

We love staying here when we go to kalkaska to see our family 3-4 times a year and always stay here..our beds kinda sucked..need new ones in toom 211.but other then that we love thi place..cant wait to go again..hopefully pool/hot tub be open even without it they make up for it in other ways there breakfast is one f the best we had staying at any motel up there by far one of our favorite places to stay..

Had to change to the first floor. No elevator. Gentleman at the desk was very accommodating. Everyone was very friendly.

Underneath the beds were covered with lots of dust and trash from previous guests. And there was a used washcloth left in the shower.

I reserved a room with jetted tub. The complexity of trying to use it was horrible. First night couldn't get it to work. In the morning, tried again was about to give up and it randomly turned on with about a 2-3 minute delay.

We never got the television to work properly, the telephone didn't ever work and there was no clock

We apologize you had issues with your room. The phone did work in your room as you called the desk from your room several times to request help with the TV as well as to ask how to call Washington. As we stated before you cannot call out long distance on our phones. Local calls only. We also verified there was in fact a clock in your room. It was the alarm clock on the night stand. As we explained we do not have wall mount clocks in our rooms.

The rooms were nice and the breakfast was very good. Check out staff was great. The only complaint is that you should have whoever is on staff at night checking people in carry a phone with them so people can call and just get an idea when they will be returning.

Reasonable price since I had to stay for a week to clean out a house in the area. Appreciated the breakfast and clean accommodations. Only thing that we couldn't figure out was the continuous smoke smell, can only figure it is being drawn in through vents from smoking areas outside? Otherwise, everything was great.
