I arrived close to 11 at night. The staff member at reception who received me could not have been more rude if he tried. He asked for my passport and then spent several minutes paging through it and asking specific questions about the stamps and when I would be exiting India. He also insisted that he knew I was applying for an OCI card and that is why he had so many questions. By this point I was done with his antics and let him know as much. If it wasn’t that late I probably would have left right then. It was a really weird and unpleasant check in. Staff do not speak very good English, communication is poor and lacking.
The room itself is small but sufficient in terms of facilities. The issue though is cleanliness because the bathroom reeked of urine the entire time I was there and the shower area clogged up every time I took a shower. They did not replace the dirty towels until I asked, they simply folded the dirty ones and put them back in the bathroom. The floor of the room was just filthy.I took off my shoes and walked around the room and my feet needed a proper scrubbing afterwards.
The hotel is aesthetically pleasing but that is about it. The plates in the restaurant where I had breakfast was dirty on two separate days and I had to ask a staff member to have them removed and washed again. The breakfast options are slightly varied but the taste and quality is just below standard. Avoid if you can and look for better options.
